This is an excellent kit. The rear tracks are molded plastic, but you don't need to join the links. They consist of a complete inside and a complete outside that you can glue together over the drive sprocket and road wheels; very realistic and very simple. I had no major problems building this mortar carrier. It can be built by most any modeler from beginner to advanced with good results.
