Review Summary
The reviews highlight that this 1/72 scale model is notably large, reflecting the real aircraft's significant size, though it lacks detailed features, particularly in the cockpit. Fit issues are common, often requiring sanding and putty at areas like intakes and wing roots, but the parts generally assemble well with easy instructions and decent decals. Overall, it is considered a good kit for modelers with some skills, offering a practical representation despite its simplicity and minimal detailing.
Big bad wolf!
This airplane froze everyone's blood when was first seen. Everyone thought it was the ultimate fighter, and everyone wanted one like that. And then, the Americans developed and built the F15. But the fact is that this was only a big set of engines (not that well made, we must admit. the inside of them could be more detailed...) with a set of wings, able to do mach 3 in straight line, fire its enormous missiles, but not agile nor anything like it... On my shelf of fighters, this is BIG. Su47 Berkut big, almost bigger than the T50. if you cut the front entry and the flaps, which is easy, it will improve its looks a lot. if on the top you cut the air bleeding sistem and improve it, also makes it look better. Its not big operations, but its small things that improve it. Overall, it represents and is the typical russian work: big, bulky, not fashion, but practic and effective. And no, the wheels are not exagerate, the real ones are that big. Because while Hoover filosophy was to make several over 3km long segments of straight line highway to be used as an improvised take of runway, the Russians was to use compacted earth done anywhere at any time to be used as a landing field. For that, the landing gear and wheels had to be strong and handle a rough terrain.
nice addition
I have found , with all the 1/72 hasagawa jets I have taken on, that there are fit problems with the intakes and filling and sanding is required. over all this is a good kit. canopy closed is only option. has pilot. very poor cockpit. very few decals ( just basic stuff ). comes with missiles. this is a big model for 1/72. so if the scale is accurate, this is one big plane in real life. it is a good kit and I would recommend it to all
