Reviews : AMT 1965 Chevelle Surf Wagon

Really nice body except for that horrid front screw mount/radiator support, that thing is an abomination, I ground the old screw mounts off & sanded it flat, mainly on the inside, the outer part is covered by the improved stock grill that actually accepts clear headlight lenses, very NICE touch, the decals are cool too, the woodgrain looks decent on a color like Firey Orange.. Interior looks ok when done, the dash has some nice gauge & radio decals.. The chrome looks nice... NOW, the molded in detail chassis plate leaves alot to be desired, the SB/tranny is meh.... Those two things really knocked it down in the ratings with me.. I might look through my junkyard & see if I have any 66 Chevelle wrecks & see if the chassis lines up.. If so I'll buy another one & do a kitbash... I can also check the RM 66 Chevelle I have.. Food for thought, this is one of those lets see what you can do with it kits...

This kit is loaded with fun stuff. Surfboards, car ramps, optional front and rear fascia, really cool wood grain decals, big ol' meaty slicks, engine performance parts, it even comes with a roof rack because every station wagon should. Highly recommend this to anyone. A really cool kit

Very nice product. Available build options made it nice be able to pick and choose how I wanted the finished product to look. Decal selection provided extras to be able to customize as desired. Very solid kit would definitely purchase again for another flavor of the finished product

The Chevelle wagon was a smooth build. I made a small modification to the motor and chose to go with the wood grain side panels. The parts all fit great and I liked the wheel options.

Another AMT kit brought back from the past.This one comes with extras like surf boards and ramps. you can also make a push wagon for the dragstrip. Pretty easy build.

Nicely detailed and casted. Plenty of options. Color me sentimental as I chose the surf wagon.

Easy build. Loved all the optional parts and decals. I will buy this again for future build.
