Nicely detailed vintage kit.
By: Hayden(N.J.)
The molds for this kit have held up really well since it's first issue in 1962. The chassis is promo style with no separate drive train, suspension or exhaust parts. However, the hood opens and the engine is a separate assembly. Engine compartment detail is pretty good. Several of these vintage, dual purpose dealer promo/consumer kits came with convertible interiors. This sports roof hardtop has one and it has good detail. Unfortunately, a convertible boot and sun visors are not included in the kit for those inclined to cut and splice. Many custom and racing parts beef up the parts count including luxury items of the time period such as a TV, Phone and a stuffed animal! A relatively clean kit. Assembly is simple and straight forward.

Frame cast to only accept pass thru metal axles. Engine cast to allow metal shaft to pass through it. Junk! Original kit contained American Racing mags. Not this kit! It contains horrible facsimiles
of the original wheel covers with 3 prong spinners.I also recall very
well detailed stock steel wheels. However, these wheels wouldn't pass forgood on a go cart model! As far as I am concerned, the only usable
part in the kit is the Body, and that doesen't justify a $28 invetment.
A galaxy full of options!

This is a 3 and 1 kit which can be built stock, mild custom, or advanced custom. It could be easily converted into a 4th option as a NASCAR race car. The kit comes with a lot options for the engine, the interior, and the body. I have built this kit twice. Once in the stock version that went together seamlessly. This time in a combination of stock and custom which took a little bit more work. Great kit that is a lot of fun to build. Enjoy building your version!
Not happy
Upon opening and looking thru the parts I found it was missing one of the axle retainers that go on the backside of the tire, it was also missing one of the engine headers ND THE BODY WAS DEFORMED. iT WAS SWELLED OUT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I hAVENT WENT ANY FARTHER YET AS i'M STILL GETTING OVER MY ANGER. But it must of been a one time kit as I see the other reviews are good ones. Guess I aint so lucky...
What a breeze to build
This kit went together pretty well. Although there was a low number of parts, they were all detailed very nicely. I didn't build this box stock but the modifications I made adapted very well. The instructions that came with my kit were easy to read and the drawings depicted the kit well.
