I really loved Ford Pickups, and I owned a 1974 Ford Pickup that was just so much fun to work on and drive. This kit was, from the beginning, difficult. You ever heard that a model directions are really just suggestions. Well, that is very true with this kit. This kit requires test-fitting and many of them I had to tack in place just to make sure everything went together. Some parts required augmentation to fit properly. I even had to trim both vent windows so they wouldn’t stick past the vent frames. The proportions of the truck looks funny. The rear wheels look too far back on the frame. The paint scheme was a bear to complete and I strongly suggest you use the decals as a placement stencil for the paint job. The interior is dull and steering wheel sits almost on the floor of the cab. The dash paints up really nice, but there are decals, if you choose. The decal are nice, but are fragile and hard to settle over the contours. I would suggest that you cut them up before applying – rather than as a unit. There is no interior rear view mirror. The tires have raised lettering, but are unpainted/printed and look small on the truck. The engine is okay, but the engine well is empty, save a battery and a small partial fan shroud. This model was just a slog to build. However, the result is nice and the concept is unique and cool, but the model engineering is sloppy and corner-cutting. I really don’t recommend it, but if you need a ford chassis, go for it.

I was looking forward to building this kit. When it arrived i found several mistakes in the representation of this truck. The 1;1 truck of this is a 3/4 ton camper special with a 9 foot bed. this kit builds into a 1/2 ton truck that was not available from Ford in that configuration. I was highly disappointed in this kit. I had several areas that didnt fit together very well.The placement of the transfercase and the drive shafts being one of the areas. I didnt care for the wheels and tire combination. I swapped in a parts box set of wheels and tires.The exhaust system left alot to be desired.I would have liked to see a better set of outside mirror in chrome instead of white plasic. I build alot of kits and was highly disappointed in this kit.

I love this truck it is a great addition to my truck dioramas and garages I love building trucks and this one definitely has a lot of different ways you could build it and that’s the beauty of this truck you can chose to lift it lower it keep it stock height or what ever else you can imagine I definitely am going to put another one in our stash and you can not complain about the price on this truck Pros: easy on the wallet, Very detailed, nicely casted, lots of possibilities, great for dioramas CONS: minimal flash if you are thinking of picking up this kit then do it it is a lot of fun to build this kit and you will have a lot of fun with it and it will look good for dioramas or whatever you want to make it for

I love this kit it is awesome so much fun to build I am a huge truck fanatic and this kit is a very good asset to my dioramas as I can use it for many thing Work truck, Show truck, Daily driver etc this truck will work for any diorama and garage very nice details on this truck I had an awesome time building it and definitely want to get more and build them in different ways PROS: No flash, Very accurate, Nice casting 10-10 stars for sure on this kit if you are thinking about getting this kit you should really consider it as it will look good in you diorama or garage and will also look like a part of what you are using it to do

Somethings amiss with this kit, I owned the real truck and the body seems a bit off, but hey its a model! I was challenged to find the right wheel tire combo as I didn't care for the ones supplied but I think that may be an ailment of mine! with the right setup it makes a beefy looking truck! I really like the 2WD 4WD option and the tonneau cover. I thought the supplied exhaust was a bit on the wimpy side, but nothing that can't be corrected. I may buy a second one and try converting it to a 2WD shortbed version. this is a fairly easy build and by looking at the pictures from other enthusiasts the sky's the limit! Enjoy!

Great model. Ford truck models are always fun to build. This model has 2wd, 4wd suspension choices, and bed cover, rollbar with lights. Pay close attention when building as to which front end setup you want, 2 or 4 wheel drive..the transfer case and all driveshafts are a nice touch. Only con, is the cheap plastic the models are made of these days. Thay need PRIMING BEFORE PAINT, if not the colors will vary due to cheap pastics. Not like the models of the old days when you could paint right over the base shell. Primer a must for a nice paint job. Also, truck details out nice.

I was pretty disappointed with the fit of parts as well as the poor instructions. Specifically, the front suspension (4X4), exhaust system, and powertrain components do not line up correctly. The truck rear fender is molded as if it has the second gas tank, but no second tank. I had to do a lot of trimming to get the windshield to allow the interior tub to fit, and the steering wheel is not angled correctly - it almost touches the floor! I’m a mid level modeler, so I can only recommend this to advanced modelers.

If you’re looking for a late 70s pickup this is it. However, be it known that this is a typical amt kit with vague instructions and many fitment issues. Although there are potentially many things to talk about with the cons of this kit, my biggest issue was with the tires, wheels and wheel backs. Like a square peg in a round hole. Good candidate for aftermarkets. Having said that, time and patience will produce something nice, and creativity can produce something stellar. Pics will soon follow.

I came into this project knowing it is old tooling. Because of that, it is a fiddly kit. The chassis takes a lot of care and patience to look acceptable. The odd proportions of the camper special can be a bit off putting from styling point. If you want to build a late 70s Ford F series, this is the only game in town until another company comes out with all new tooling (Mobeius perhaps)?

I’ve been looking forward to this build and trying a two-tone paint job. I exchanged the wheels for an oversized set of off-road wheels to give it a major off-road look. The two-tone colored seats sets off the exterior while enhancing the exterior paint job. I used patience when I built the suspension and drivetrain selecting the 4WD option; it was challenging but went together well.

excellent quality and a great start for anyone that is new to making scale models. I had a great time from start to finish definitely would recommend to any beginners or anyone in general.

it is a good build. there were no issues with the model and it all fit together great. even has a place to cutout in the hood if you want to turn it into Bigfoot #1,2,3,4

Was an easy build, only problem I had was frame was a little twisted and body line would not line up, but was able to fix. See in pictures.

This has to be the worst amt model I've ever built. Very flashed. I wouldn't recommend for a beginner.

I made this an hooked up a trailer with the same racing theme came out looking really good together

Good subject,Good fit clear parts are very clean. Like the decals but tricky to lay down.
