Fellow rocketeers tend to hate the old copperheads for their poor reliability. I found that if you just treat them gently, they work quite well. At my local club where it is usually quick and easy to change out an ignitor, I will usually start with the copperhead that is included with the reload. It would be too expensive to throw out the copperhead and use a First Fire in every motor. However, when I am at a big event and want the best reliability in my E-G motors, I will pull out the First Fire Jr. Nothing worse than waiting 30-45 min for the launch cycle and then have your ignitor fail. I have yet to have a properly First Fire Jr fail to light my motor. Well named.

I've used at least two or three of these in my rockets, all of which just wouldn't light with the copperheads. On all occasions, these lit up the motors first time every time. These are really great, so much easier and more reliable than the copperheads. Supposedly, Aerotech caught on to this, and has discontinued using copperheads in the reloads, but there will still be many still in circulation. These are really, really awesome ignitors, and the only downside is that they're usually pretty expensive, usually Between $8 and $12 for three. Expensive, but worth it!

I recently launched a 29mm SU on these ignitors, and could not be more pleased. I used a 6V system, yes that is correct. You can use the standard Estes control for these, knowing this saved me a ton of money in the long run. They do take a delay to fire, but so do all others. The only con is the price, 3 for $8 is a bit expensive, but for how well they work, I will take these anyday.

I have had no issues with these ignitors. Easy to use and very reliable. They work great with my homemade ignitor box which uses two 9v batteries in parrallel. It would be nice if the price would drop on these.

These work much better than the copperheads, make sure they are touching the grain and held in well so that they don't spit out the nozzle. A little 4F can help ensure ignition

These infinities are our go to nighties for our composite “E” through “G” motors. They are easy to install and they light our motors effortlessly.

These work a lot better than the copperheads. Used to spend a lot of time trying to get the old one to fire. These worked perfect every time.

As supplied by Aerotech, quality is 100%. These are the only ignighters I'll use in my reloads and single use engines...

Quality igniters, very reliable. Easier to use than other igniters provided with some motors.

These are very reliable , every MPR range box should have a pack for backups.

I have been using First Fire Ignitors for many years with no failures.
