Reviews : Busch Garden Pond Set - Kit

I live in a small apartment and am building a shelf railroad (96 by 18) in my living room. I was especially pleased with the pond foil that comes with the kit; it adds depth and the fish and underwater plants are clearly visible. (Be sure to use clear glue when attaching the foil to the underwater background.) When viewed the side, the light reflects just like it would off of real water. Because I don't have a hobby room, what I appreciated most was the ease at which the model can be installed: quick & easy, no mess. Perfect for a novice like me or even for a more experienced modeler who is satisfied with something that looks good and is enough. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that Busch forgot to pack the white pebbles that border the pond. Looking at the picture, they appear to be out of scale anyway: bigger than a duck, smaller than a boulder. Overall, I am very pleased with this kit and it makes an excellent addition to the small municipal park I'm building. The park is right next to the library I'm building (Walthers Bailey Savings & Loan kit.)

The building instructions are confusing. The main instructions are in German. An additional sheet includes a multiple language sheet that helps a little but not much. I typed all the pictured instructions into a translator that helped a little also. I still have not built this as I am afraid I will screw it up. If they want multiple languages then include the instructions that way instead of adding a confusing key. The birds and swimmers are not included.

This was a fun kit to build I placed the pond kit on my farm .I think it adds realism to my farm area.
