Reviews : Detail-Master Hood Pin Kit (25pc)

These were easy to install on my Revell/Monogram 1970 Dodge Challenger. I just sanded off the molded-in hood pins and installed the Detail Master ones, per the instructions. Some of the work involved in installing these is fairly intricate, and you must be sure there is enough plastic beneath the pin in order to support it. These pins actually hold the hood closed The torsion pins will probably not survive very long if they are bent back and forth to open and close them. However, I prefer the hair pin style anyway and they just slide off and on. Once you remove them, they are retained to the car by a wire, just like the fullsize ones. These look VERY convincing when installed on the car. An excellent product.

These look really good when done right. Probably should not be the first photo etch items you try, they tested my patience to the limit, but once you get the touch the results are well worth the work.
