Garment Factory Review
This kit is made from hydro-cal, basically a plaster casting. This results in a heavy structure. Being my first experience with this type of product, I broke the rear wall while attempting a modification. The manufacturer was excellent, providing a replacement wall plus some additional scrap pieces to practice on at no charge. Still, I found this kit difficult to work with, the joints require filling, (spackle is recommended) and the walls are difficult to square up. A lot of filing and sanding id required. Tips are provided in the instructions for hiding these flaws. The instructions are excellent.
The luncheonette part is plastic and easier to work with. There are many graphics to choose from.
I modified this product adding a peaked roof, reminiscent of a sweat shop I remember from my youth and used it in a downtown tenement row area.
