Estes Comanche-3 Great Multistage Rocket, but can improved and up powered.
Nice performance, for altitude. Lacks consistency, for successful staging, but it can be improved. Just drill a 1/16inch, or(3mm) hole in the stage prior to the stage transferring the interior hot gas pulse pressure wave exterior and the stages will not prematurely separate before ignition of the next stage. Reinforce the hole with C/A adhesive, or epoxy. Do this for the 1st and 2nd stages, for more reliable staging. Keeping these holes clean from residue and debris, will provide successful staging, for years. Up powering the 2nd stage and 3rd stage sustainer are possible, for 24mm motors, giving you 3xD12, or 2xD12+E12. The 3rd stage sustainer is an E motor and you should see the Comanche-3 at over 3,000feet of altitude. Add nose weight for stability and a GPS tracker. Have fun, for you will be impressed.
