After having built several F6F kits from various manufacturers such as Revell and Hasegawa I must say how impressed I am with this kit and the other F6F kits from Hobby Boss. Even the paper that the instructions are printed on has a different, superior feel to it. The detail is exquisite especially the cockpit, and the wing interiors seen from the landing gear bay and the folded wings if that option is built. No overcast on the sprues and parts can be removed cleanly with little if any clean-up. The build is enjoyable and very smooth with no fit issues to deal with. All in all these kits are amzing quality for the low price and build into a very life like replica with detail that one can be proud of. Oh, and did I mention the canopies? The are much finer and the clear plastic thin enough that squadron Crystal Clear canopies can be done without if your budget is limited. Top marks to Hobby Boss for producing such an amazing kit.

I am starting too really like Hobby Boss kits. This is the second one I have built. Cons: The kit comes with a 7-page instruction book. Plus, a color sheet that shows the two different markings. One set of clear sprues for the canopy. The decals went on fine. You have the option of two bombs, six rockets and one external fuel tank. The wings can be extended or folded. I chose the folded wings with all the ordinance added on plus fuel tank. Great detail in the cockpit and engine. The wing folds have great detail on the inside of the wing and fit great. Recessed panel lines. I chose Tamiya Navy Blue spray can TS-8 and it came out great. Used a flat clear coat to hold decals in place and give it a long time at sea look. No fit problems. Pros: None.

This is my second F6F Hellcat I've built It has very well detailed parts I've built the Revell F6F kit and it's not as good so spend a little more and get a Hobby Boss you won't be disappointed . The parts do require some sanding where you cut off from the sprue tree to fit properly as all Hobbyboss kits and use only Tamiya extra thin cement No Testors tube glue it has a tendency in melting the parts if you use too much so none of that do it the right way .

HobbyBoss is always pretty decent Myself, I am a Tamiya or Meng person This was a good price (with points) and I am not going to go into super depth with it. Build it from box with fabbed belts and maybe a little plumbing around the landing gear and that's it

Only 2nd model build and a pretty nice one. Cockpit and extended wings were a little iffy, but that could just be my inexperience.
