FB-111 kit is a big, fun kit with only 1 flaw for the serious historical modeler
To my pleasant surprise, this kit has the extended wingspan of the FB-111A (vs an F-111). The flaps and slats are the best I have seen. The switchblade wings can be constructed either fully swept or fully forward. The kit includes real rubber tires! This is a big kit with 380+ pieces, many of which are F-111 munitions which were never carried by an FB-111. No AGM-69 SRAMs were included; in fact, no strategic weapons at all were included for this strategic bomber! [References include www.FB-111.net (which is excellent)]. I had to settle for installing 2 B-61 nuclear trainers in the bomb bay and 2 B-83 nuclear trainers on wing hardpoints from Belcher Bits kit BB-31. I inserted a pilot and B/N from the Hasegawa crew kit. Decals are good. I struggled the assembly of the major fuselage components that no longer fit after the landing gear wells and the bomb bay were installed. The paint schemes suggested by Hobby Boss were poor. Nonetheless, this was a fun kit.
