Reviews : Hasegawa X-29

This is one of the easyest kits to build, with a good looking, nicely detailed outside, and with a nice cockpit. you can build it with open or closed canopy, and this is from the standard high quality hasegawa line. Its not a fighter, nor a rare airplane. but it had its place in history. it proved the higher manouverability and lower stall speed of the forward swept wing, but also shown how hard it is to prevent wing twist. as a model, nice details, but the decals are only for one of the 2 prototypes. Still a nice curiosity to have on the shelf, so that some smart guys laugh saying that you glued the wings backwards...

This futuristic-looking branch in the F-5 Tiger / F-20 Tigershark family tree is well represented here. Sinple parts breakdown makes assembly easy. Decal application will be the hardest part, unless you do as many others have and make a what-if in military service version. Camo, some parts box hardpoints and a few missiles make for a cool-looking never-was aircraft. Whether you plan to do the daunting prototype scheme or go your own way, this one is worth your dollars. Recommended!

This is a very good kit, but it may be a little challenging for newer builders. The build is simple and the model goes together quickly and easily, though in this scale there are a lot of little parts. It has all engraved panel lines - which are a bit shallow - but it builds to a really nice finished plane. If you combine this kit with some Hasegawa weapons sets you can do a really nice what if combat loaded X-29 to F-29. That's how I chose to build it up.

Although simplistic, the kit has nice clean panel lines and no flash (as you would come to expect). The cockpit has minimal detail, and would benefit from added detailing, especially since the kit does come with a ladder and crew figure. If you want a nice model of this interesting subject, this is the (only) way to go. Being modified from the F-5/F-20 there are numerous what if projects you can build with the base kit and additional weapons and decals.

Special test prototype airplane with unique feature of swept wings. 1/72 Scale small but very beautiful to display. I am eager to build this X-29 model airplane.

Model is in new conditions. It arrived well packed. The actual model box is like new and no parts are missing. Thank you!

A VERY UNUSUAL CONCEPT WITH THE WINGS BUT IN TEAL LIFE, VERY AGILE, THIS IS A GOOD KIT WITH A LOT OF POSSIBILITIES.

Alright kit that I couldn't resist. Can't wait to finish. No extreme fit issues or flash.

Value for the money can’t be beat overall very happy with this one.
