Hasegawa is a quality brand however this kit fell a little short. For the most part this kit went together fairly smooth. I love the decal selection and the airbrake option is not available on the Tamiya. I had some serious issues with the stabilizers as the fuselage hole was oversized for some reason. Like others, the instrument panels not fitting correctly was frustrating. I purchased the 2 missile kits that totaled $40 just to be able to put the iconic AIM54 on the kit. What irritated me was the Hasegawa brand AIM 7 missiles would not fit with all fins attached. I suggest you leave one of the back fins off so it can slide into place. Bad kits happen.

This and all of the Hasegawa F-14 kits are said to be the best of the best F-14 kits, even going over that of Hobbyboss to some modellers. The first downside to Hasegawa kits like these is that ordnance is not ALWAYS included in kits (I know, it sounds weird). Overall, though, Hasegawa kits have a large amount of detail in them, while some issues lie in that of the cockpit and wheel wells, which isn't a REAL issue. Unlike some other F-14 kits, this one includes fuel tanks. A lot of Hasegawa kits have may parts, so this build won't be a quick one. Very Accurate.

Overall, this model has great details, including rubber wheels and photoetched components. The decals are high resolution and sturdy. Instructions are vague when it comes to assembling the wings, and the fit of the intakes isn't perfect. Overall would highly recommend to those looking for a quality F-14
