Sister ship to ‘Ise’, great to build
Built this one some years back. ‘Hyuga’ was 1 of 2 battleships of its class to have 6 turrets. After the battle of Midway in which the IJN lost 4 of the 6 carriers at Pearl Harbor, the last 2 turrets on ‘Ise’ and ‘Hyuga’ were removed to be replaced with a small flight deck. This kit shows ‘Hyuga’ as she appeared before the conversion. Like most Hasegawa/Tamiya kits, detail is pretty minute and assembly is pretty easy for an experienced modeler. As always I recommend painting parts before detaching from the molds. Not disappointed with this one. Recommend definitely.
