DECENT PHANTOM
Italeri's 72nd scale F-4 C/D/J Phantom II is probably one of the older tools still floating around on the market, aside from the Revell one. It features pretty decent engraved panel detail with minor raised panel line detail on some parts (such as the landing gear). The cockpit is subpar and wanting for detail, and the seats are not all that great either, but they work well enough. The decal sheet is nice and large and does include options for the four Phantoms shown on the box, which is a definite plus. In terms of price, I think this Phantom is a little more expensive than it deserves to be, and for this price you would be better suited to getting the much superior Hasegawa tooling, or even forking out a bit more for the undeniably astounding quality of the recent Fine Molds kit. While certainly not the worst kit out there by any means, I would recommend this kit for a modeller willing to put in a little extra work and TLC to make the most out of it.
