Reviews : Iwata NEO for CN Gravity Feed Airbrush

I've owned this airbrush for several months now and its an excellent value for the $$. I mostly use this for detail work and almost exclusively shoot enamel paints through it. I've had no issues with clogging while using enamel paints. I have used some acrylics but they have a tendency to gum up the airbrush, more specifically the Vallejo line, although Tamiya acrylics have worked fine with no problems. The one issue with this airbrush is that you have to keep it clean and you have to be very very careful when taking off the nozzle because its is tiny and easy to break off if you overtighten it with the wrench and they cost about $15 to replace so be careful. Disassembly is easy with everything being finger-tight except for the tiny nozzle. I always flush mine with mineral spirits or alcohol depending on the paint I'm using and give it about 3 cycles in my ultrasonic cleaner. The last thing is that it requires an Iwata brand hose or else you have to purchase an adapter fitting which I did to fit my Badger hose. The last quirk is that I'd recommend applying a little oil to the air valve because the trigger tends to get stuck, giving inconsistent paint flow. So just a little drop of motor oil around the air valve will fix that. Overall its a very nice airbrush for beginners and those on a budget, users just have to be careful regarding overtightening the nozzle and make sure to keep it clean. I can't compare this to Iwata's higher end airbrushes but with the performance I've gotten so far has been a very good deal.

Iwata is one of the best makers of aibrushes in the world, but you typically pay good money for that quality and dependability. The Neo is a more affordable Iwata airbrush that still performs very well for the majority of your hobby-related airbrushing needs. Yet it can be obtained for a lower price than other Iwata models, like the Custom Micron, Eclipse and Eclipse Takumi. That being said, if you're on the fence about whether you want to invest in an airbrushing system, there are cheaper models out there for under $50. They're a good option in case it turns out you don't like airbrushing. However, they won't provide the quality or performance of Iwata. If it turns out you really like airbrushing and you want to step things up, you can look into an Iwata Custom Micron, Eclipse, or Eclipse Takumi.

this airbrush rarely works well as the paint tends to dry in the nozzle almost immediately especially if you are using acrylics. it doesn't matter how much you clean it or how you mix the paints, its gonna stop up about 2 minutes in. it does work better with enamels. the nozzle is so tiny its hard to keep up with and will easily cross thread break. you can run a .50 nozzle and needle and it will run a little longer.

I've got this and I've not had a single problem with it. Very simple to use, nothing that's going to take awhile to learn. and for the price it's great. This company makes Tamyia airbrush for them. so if it's good enough for them why not you? just like anything you've gotta keep it clean and it's not that hard to do. You need this one if you are just starting out airbrushing

This was my first quality airbrush and im extremely happy with it. I shoot both acrylics and enamels through it with no issue. Very easy to disassemble and clean. As with all air brushes it has many delicate parts that break or get lost easily. This brush will do some nice fine lines and can also shoot a model car body with ease. Great bang for the buck.

I never got to use the airbrush. The needle tip fell out as I was just opening the box to inspect the airbrush. I've read mixed reviews IE: works great, however it suffers from sensitive needle problems. I could not make a quantified review as I did not use it. HOBBYLINC however is resolving my issue. I have decided to go with a different airbrush.

Great Airbrush for all..... This is the first Iwata airbrush I've purchased. And, I'm happy I did. The airbrush fits well in your hand and is very easy to hold. Not having a lot of parts, clean up is a breeze. This airbrush would work great for the beginner right up to the pro. An awesome mate for the NEO compressor.

I have one of these Iwata Neo airbrushes and I really recommend it, especially for begginers. It's easy to use, easy to clean and sprays perfectly. I haven't had any issues with enamels or acrylics (I never tried using lacquers on this one). Cheap and high quality airbrush, this is what you are looking for!

even thinned acrylics jam it up. vallejo makes great paint, but this airbrush can't handle it. its been discounted at big box stores for over a year. difficult to clean. tried disassembling and soaking parts, no luck. give it a pass.

This airbrush sprays perfectly for me every time. I was hesitant at first but once I got it assembled and used it, I love it. Never fails to spray properly, you will not be dissapointed.

I think that part of what makes this airbrush so good is in its simplicity and ease of use. It is easy to clean and easy to use.

Clogs pretty often but good for the money, fairly easy to cleAn at least, I recommend getting it
