Nice finished model
This is a large model when completed and was fun to build and finish. The large scale makes it possible to add extra detail. If you search Maine lobster boats online there are a lot of pictures of the actual boats which show variations in paint and equipment. Construction is pretty straight forward but I had some difficulty with the chine logs. Both the inside and outside chine logs on the port side broke when I was bending them to fit the forward frames. I went ahead and glued them in and laminated another thin piece to the outside and shaped it to the curve with a sanding block. A palm sander and small plane made fairing the hull framework a lot easier. I also found that using cardboard templates traced from the hull cross sections on the plan were helpful in getting the contours correct. After planking and a little filler everything worked out.
