Reviews : MPC 1976 Chevy Caprice w/Trailer

This is another kit I got to kit bash with sfternarket parts. At this point, it's as much VCG Resins as it is AMT! I used the interior tub, the body, the hood, the trim, and the window glass. The frame and engine were replaced. I have not yet done the trailer. Overall, the kit is SIMPLE. Half the styrene in the box is the trailer. It builds up nice, but you have to take your time. This is another kit that will have you cleaning up styrene shavings for days - LOTS of flash; LOTS of mold lines. The frame started with a VCG Nova back half; the rest is fabricated. Engine is the VCG DRCE engine with a C7 trans. Wires and braided line are ProTech that I got at VCG. Radiator was trimmed and moved forward. Seats, steering wheel, tach, ProTech harness hardware, shifter, speaker grills, and ProTech roll bar padding are VCG; key fob in the steering column is Hooligan Scale Models. Roll cage is fabricated from 2mm round rod. Wheels and tires are VCG. Figure is from the 76 Duster kit (the one molded in yellow). The molded-in detail - dash, badging, etc - are Preston nice and easy enough to paint. If you do this box stock, you'll spend more time waiting for the paint to dry than building, but it comes out nice.

Excellent hard to find model,except it was missing 2 chrome rims

The car was good but the trailer had some warped pieces.
