Best choice for Peco turnouts
Peco turnouts have spring loaded points. This requires a strong actuating arm on the turnout motor to break the spring tension. I have found that turnout motors from other brands which work fine on their own turnouts do not properly actuate the Peco turnout points. I usually use the PL-10E turnout motor because it is hidden under the layout; however, the rail yard on my layout is situated over a tunnel. In this situation I needed a side mounted turnout motor. The Peco PL-11 works perfectly. The PL-11 is also a good choice if your layout is built on a 2 foam base TIP: always use Peco's PL-26 momentary contact switches connected to Peco's PL-35 capacitor discharge unit and you will have trouble free operation of your Peco turnouts using Peco's turnout motors.
