Reviews : Pegasus V1 Flying Bomb

This 1/18 scale kit is from a Chinese model company called Pegasus Hobbies. Until now I have never heard of or worked on any of their kits before. The pros of this kit are as follows: The instructions are extremely easy to follow. The components fit nicely if very snug. The painting of the aircraft is well done as well! The cons of this kit are as follows: There is only one paint scheme and not enough views for painting and placement of decals on the V-1. Speaking of decals, they are extremely hard to get off the paper. It will acquire more than 10 seconds of soaking in water according to the instructions. I did it for more than 30 seconds but fortunately for me, none were ever ripped. In conclusion, I give this kit a perfect rating of 5 stars out of 5! This will be a perfect kit for you if you start working on advanced models without hassle that will come in the later projects you’ll encounter in your favorite hobby. Pegasus Hobbies if you’re reading this I’d suggest that you follow what Airfix and Revell are doing in terms of decal paper removal.

This is the infamous buzz bomb that terrorized London. When reading about this one is amazed at the number of these that were launched during the war. It was a good thing that the launched sites were so vulnerable to bombing and the Germans could not remote launch from mobile sites. For your info TAKOM makes a V-2 that is 1/35 scale and would be a companion to this model. These flying bombs were so slow that British planes could catch them and get a wingtip over them and flip them off course to crash into the sea or miss their targets. Shooting caused a large explosion and several planes suffered damage and were lost.

Easy to build. But you need to do some sanding to get the parts to join properly. All in all it's worth it.
