One of the Worst
I have put together dozens of Railroad layout buildings and I have to say this one is among the worst! First of all the first couple of hours you will spend doing what the manufacturer should have done, cutting the various pieces for construction and cutting out doors. This must be done using a proper hand cutting tool and you are going to need plenty of sharp blades. Even though the cuts are pre-lined out this is still difficult and time consuming and should not be part of the construction process. Once this is done you will deal with poorly aligned pieces, bad overall engineering and confusing instructions. This was my first Pike's kit and it will definitely be my last!
Needs better instructions
I found the instructions a little hard to understand, some pictures with the instructions would make it a little easier . The roof was the main problem . I could not figure out how the roof went on with the over hang . My building has no over hang .
Awesome fire station
Great buy. Quality material and pre-cut all the cuts for every door and roof. This is an awesome addition to my new town. I did break a blade on my hobby knife so I recommend that you have a backup blade.
Home Town Fire Station
This little station is so easy to put together, it almost builds itself. The Stall doors can be raised or left down. If you are creative, you can use a stall for the local Police.
Basic Building
Simple to make but instructions are poor. Main doors really can only be opened all the way or closed all the way and ladder trucks will not fit in building. Very quick to make
Poor kit design
Plastic parts require cutting apart. Butt joints require gluing and then glue leaks through joint. Instructions not intuitive.
pain in butt
this kit was a pain .was not easy to cut ended up slicing finger open. Never finished kit.
Looks great
came faster then I thought and looks great my 9yr old is excited to add it to our town.
