I always keep a bottle of this on hand, mainly for use on plastics that methylene chloride (dichloromethane) doesn't affect. It makes good bonds, but it is slow compared to some other plastic welding solvents—which can be a good thing. So much for the pro, now for the cons. Shelf life is poor. I generally remove the applicator cap and replace it with one that forms a better seal. I also store it in a sealed container when not in use. The odor is terrible, and the vapor harmful—I'd say that is putting it very mildly. Use only with adequate ventilation. I only use this in my externally vented spray booth.

This is the best plastic cement I have used. (I really hate the tube stuff.) Use sparingly, and you can build a real nice plastic model. It wicks in like CA, and quickly makes a strong bond. A favorite use of mine is for building rail guides for model rockets out of ABS Plastruct H columns, as well as rectangular and square tubes. I just cut my pieces to size and shape, hold them together and wick in the cement. Done! Just remember to keep the lid on tight, or it will evaporate before you know it. Also, don't put it on too heavily, it runs like water and will get all over your work.

Until recently trying Plastiweld, I didnt realize what I had been missing. Very easy to use with little practice, just brush on each seem, then joint the seems and put a drop on one end to reactivate what was brushed on earlier and you have a near perfect-solid welded seem. With my recent experience I found it is much easier and less messy to use a finer brush than the one in the lid and use cement applicator tool like the examples sold on this site. This product is a must, and the add on tools make it less messy and easier to use. Cant go wrong here... Highly recommend.

An old school builder told me about this and I highly recommend it. Put about 1/2 oz. In a small glass jar, drop in a few small pieces of cut up sprue. Let sit about 24-36 hours ubtil the plastic melts,and you've got some awesome body putty. Doesn't shrink, it's sandable and has same texture as the parts you're joining because it's made of the same plastic. Unused portion will keep for quite a while if you've got it in a jar that seals tight. You can add more cement anytime to thin it too, or plastic to thicken it. Works excellent.

This stuff works amazing for securing 3d PLA printed parts together. I have had to make some 3d models that were larger than my 3d printer could print so the models had to be split up into sections. After the prints were completed I test fitted the parts. Once the parts are fully test fitted I then used the Plastiweld to adhere each of the parts together. The parts secure to each other extremely well and bond quickly. Plastiweld will be my go to product for my 3d prints that need glued together.

I use this Glue interchangeably with Tamiya and the Flex-I-File Plast-I-Weld Glue. All three bond great for plastic models. In Fact I think this is the same as the Flex-I-File Version. It is a thin and strong glue. I use it with an old #0 spotter brush or the Flex-I-File Touch-N-Flow applicator which is a great way to apply this product. This Glue is $1 les expensive than Tamiya and Flex-I-File glue, I also use this glue to make sprue glue it is an amazing sprue glue.

I have tried a lot of different type of bonding agents for PLA 3D Printing and this by far is the best that's out there. I started using it years ago for gaming minis and wasn't able to find it anymore in my area and right before Co-vid i got a 3D printer and looked everywhere for this and no lock. Then i found Hobbylinc and there carry it, it tried it , got the best results with bounding PLA there now HL is my go to for this item and a few other items.

Great product, but when I first used it (growing up, probably 12 years ago) I brushed it on like restore plastic cement. DON'T do that with this stuff, all that's needed is a thing coat on each surface before joining the pieces, or just hold the parts gently together and touch the brush to one end of the joint. That's it. Great stuff, will definitely but again.

When it comes to gluing certain plastics, this is some of the best glue available because it literally melts (welds) the plastic together. Of course, if you're not using the right plastic, this glue won't work, so keep that in mind. Also, don't use too much, or you risk melting too much plastic and deforming what you're trying to glue

Excellent for solid permanent joints. Perfect for attaching both Polystyrene and ABS together. The medium consistency gives you both time to position the parts and also give a bit of gap filling for joints with a slight miss match. The only con is that as the bottle empties the glue seems to thicken up bit, but that is sometimes an advantage.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this model cement is the right choice for car kits. I'm about to start a level 5 Volkswagen Bus kit, and wanted to know if the applicator brush would be ok to use. I hear good things about this cement used on military aircraft, tank tracks and other similar applications. Thanks for your help.

A good cement with strong capillary action, easily as good as other far more expensive brands I've used. Bond is solid. One negative is the vapor given off, it fills a room instantly, and permeates clothing and fabrics more so than other glues I've used Definitely heed the product warning label,& use with a lot of ventilation

My first time using this product and I like it, the odor is not that bad, nor is it overpowering. that being said still use proper ventilation. it glues well, does not dry to quick so you have time to mke sure everything is alighned properly. I don't see a down side, seems to be a fine adhesive.

This glue is very thin. It will run along the seam and get into the smallest crack. I normally brush it on twice, for a stronger hold. It's thin enough that it doesn't affect your paint job either. This is mostly the glue I use, for scratch building racecar frames and rollcages.

This is the only glue that I use for building my car's and trucks. It's surprisingly strong and you only need a little bit on both sides your gluing together. I'm totally sold on this product. It's also great if you need to get into a tight area it flows freely.

I bought this weld elsewhere and paid double the price, PLUS had to pay $15.00 shipping, and when I got it from the other place, it was only half full!! I love HobbylinC and will continue purchasing my models and supplies from them. Thank you HobbylinC

This cement is very thin and flows well into small spaces. It dries fast, and doesn't create those obnoxious little stringy threads that some of the thicker cements do. The brush applicator is useful for covering large areas as well.

Generally this cement works well bonding styrene. My biggest complaint is over time it becomes thicker, causing it to build up instead of flowing nicely with capillary action. This happened twice when the bottle is about 2/3 used.

Awesome product and great quality for the price. Very strong bond on model cars. No need to over apply, a little goes a long way. Brush in cap is clean and easy to apply. Try it if you haven’t, you’ll love it

This is a great glue to glue all types of plastic, even ABS, to about any kind of plastic. Welds the plastic together for a strong bond. I use it on my model rail structure kits that often are ABS plastic.

Plastiweld is fabulous! Just use a fine-tipped brush to apply it to the two parts you wish to join and you will have a strong bond. Works well with all kinds of plastics. Will be buying Plastiweld again!

This is by far the best liquid plastic cement money can buy. I've used a lot of glues over the past 40 years and I always seem to be buying old reliable. I would recommend this product to everyone

works great for bonding ABS, which is my main use. using a bottle with metal tip makes it easier to control the capillary action. Tacks up pretty quick and has a great bond when completely set.

Hands down the best glue to use for scratch building. Being a steel mill modeler, everything I build is on a grand scale, and 85% of it is scratch built. And this glue is my go to.

I had used the Testors liquid for years until a friend recommended this. I do a lot of scratch building and this stuff dries incredibly fast and bonds very well. Excellent stuff.

It's strong, dries fast, thin, has a brush applicator in the lid, and uses capillary action to glue seams. A great product. It's my favorite cement for building model airplanes.

Easy to Use, Fast and Effective. Plastruct Plastic Weld flows easily and sets up fast. Once the joint is fully cured, it does not pull apart. I used it to fasten ABS to ABS.

One of the first things you can do to level-up your models is clean up your glue application. This product, with its brush application, helps quickly set parts into place.

This glue is the best! I love the nice narrow brush it has, and once the styrene plastic parts I glue together sets, it melds the two pieces into one unified piece.

Been using this product for years now and haven't had a problem. Only thing is that the seams have to be tight for the capillary action of the glue to take hold

found that testors is as good can also use a fine point brush 4 applications great for glueing different types of plastic together like abs and styrene

Great stuff...cant go wrong on this glue Just follow the instructions on the bottle...and your parts will be on super strong Closes seams well also

The best glue I've found for all types of plastics. It works by capillary action and yet its not so thin that it bleeds all over everything.

Great glue, but dries quickly. Make sure the parts to be cemented are free from paint as it will not weld the parts together.

this items is very good. It takes a little longer to dry, but it holds very good. I have been using it foe about 5 years!

This glue works great dries fast I'll get more no doubt faster than super glue and tou dont glue your fingers up lol

I use this glue almost exclusively to put together plastic structures. The glue binds within seconds and dries clear.

wanted to try this product since I use the plastic rod and strips usually use c a glue this seems to work better

If your looking for a good quality with excellent hold, this is it. It dose have a strong odder, more then most.

This product keeps plastic parts together like no other i have tried. Bonds to parts to keep them very strong.

I use this stuff 90% of the time,it doesn't dry too fast or too slow and when properly used bonds permanently

These products are my go-to for scale modeling. I really like the way Plastiweld and Bondene products hold.

I feel that the brush is too big, and I've knocked the bottle over more times than I can count.

Excellent. Bonds very well and quick drying. Can re-wet glued parts to rearrange or refit.

It's good but...not as good as the MEK ( METHYL ETHYL KETONE)that I get from Lowes.
