1968 Dodge Charger - My Mom's Car - Great Kit
By: johnkauck
Built this as a tribute to the first car I remember my Mom driving. It's a very nice kit with excellent fit of all parts, albeit they fit very tightly in some spots like the front suspension. It also needed some sanding of mold lines, especially behind the rear side windows. Other than that it is just great. Overall, very accurate to references. Comes with 2 choices of car; one standard R/T version, and one custom street rod. Thus you get an entire extra engine as well as extra wheels and 2 rear tires. The engine is very accurate to references, and all I added was spark plug wires. I also added the aftermarket Roadrunner decals, which my mom had on her car. I highly recommend this kit. It was a fun build of an awesome classic 70's muscle car.
Nice R/T

As with many of Revell's Collector's Edition kits, there was a lot of great, detailed parts. As mentioned, enough parts are included for a second engine! I agree with the earlier comments about the fit of the front clip being especially challenging; the clearance between the tie rod and the front spindles are very tight and I needed to re-locate a couple of times before getting enough of the spindle to mount the tire and wheel. One other note is that the top covers for the upper A arms are molded into the car body on the inside of the engine bay. It looks nice but it made the fit of that 446 Hemi tight. If you decide to wire up the spark plugs, a suggestion would be to run the wires over the top of the lifter covers instead of under them.

I love this kit this kit is a lot of fun to build I love old cars so this is great for my collection this kit has a lot of cool ways you can customize it I want to add another one to my stash as this one looks so good PROS: cheap, fun to build, looks good, highly detailed, features a nice engine CONS: minor flash if you are thinking of picking up this kit then get it, it is a great kit for any old car collector and you will have many ways you can build this if I was going to give it a rating I would give it 10 out of 10 stars I am using this kit for a diorama I have about the first ever car show I went to my mom took a lot of pictures of the cars there so I build cars based on what was at the show and the beginning of my car addiction!
68 CHARGER
Once again I have to say Revell products are very nice all the parts were clean and fit together well there is very minimal flash or mold lines I know this is kind of an old kit but it's held up very well it was clean and I had to do very little work to get to look good also the instructions were easy to follow and easy to read and everything went together as it should this is another one of Revells harder models that are pretty much easy for anybody to put together so if you're just starting out and you think this car is too difficult don't worry about it if you want to build this car I would do it even if you are a novice modeller you still get good results so this is a Five Star product I would recommend anybody......BM.
1968 DODGE CHARGER
I put Revell models into 2 categories, good and really good. This one is really good, 5+ stars. I like that it is a 2 in 1 kit. there are 2 complete engine options 440 Magnum and 426 Hemi. Kit even includes an engine stand. I also like that the front wheels steer with a tie rod. There are lot of ways to mix and match and add your personal style. I did mine stock with 440 Magnum, and painted with Testers Metallic Bronze with Testers fabric tan interior paint. I think the Bronze really works on this car. Viewing the gallery of pictures there are a lot of nice examples. Fun to see other builders interpretation of a great car. Buy this model and have fun with it.
Only a few minor issues
There were only two real issues I found with the model. First one being the front valence didn't want to fit right, so I had to do a little cutting and puttying to it but it worked well in the end. Other one isn't as much of an issue as a lot of kits have it, mold lines. Have to look at it carefully to get them spotted and taken care of but other than that a nice kit. The two motor choices were nice as well. Plus the fact that the motors and transmission were separate, which left me a spare motor to put in the bed of my shop truck. I would highly recommend this model to anyone and everyone.
68 Charger RT

Not a bad kit but I must say that it isnt for a beginner. Some minor fitment issues and some suspension modifications will be needed to get the stance just right. I have built two of these ...one as the badguy 68 Charger from the movie Bullit and one as Denis Guilders Charger drom Christine. This kit will build up into a very nice looking 68 but it will take time and some extra skills to get it just right. Over all , if you just want an easy and quick build ...move on to the next, but if you want to invest a lil time ...this is a good subject matter to tackle
Tough build
By: joejfletcher
I had a lot of trouble building this kit and have been a modeler for over 40 years! The front suspension sits too high if you build it straight from the box. I had to remove part of the suspension and re-locate the spindles to get the correct stance on this car. Also the exhaust manifolds or headers will not line up with the exhaust pipes, this also happened on the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona I recently finished. I think Revell needs to take all of the Chargers back to the drawing board and start over. I would not recommend this kit to any beginner....
68 Charger Very Nice Kit
By: mrlarry4069
After being absent from modeling since the mid 80's This was my 2nd model I chose to do, and after long hours on the internet watching current trends in modeling I chose to build the drag version. The parts are well detailed and fitment was excellent with little to no prep work to get parts cleaned up coming off the sprue. I was really surprised of all the extra engine parts to assemble a second motor, And even a engine stand what a surprise. This will make a great start to my collection.
Favorite model
By: Infernonowak
This model is easily my favorite I have 3 it is vary easy to build and has cool features like the optional hemi, headers, hood, suspension and backseat. The only downsides are that the front suspension is plastic I wish it was metal because it breaks easily the two that I have built so far have broken steering, and I wish both engines came with separate transmissions so you could put them in other models Easier.other than that it is awsome and I want to build a lot more.
good except for the hood fitment
By: Modeller999
I like this Kit because there is good detail throughout. having 2 engines is awesome and the stand for the unused engine is a really neat idea. However I could not use the hemi engine with the stock hood because the air cleaner was to tall and hit the hood so it wouldn't close properly. This isn't a huge deal for me because I like to display my models with the hood off but if you want to have the hood on when it is done make share you use the 440 engine
Nice kit, supspect fit.
By: davedownard
There is some nice detail here. However, I waffled on the 3 or 4 star because the fit of the body, front bumper/grill and hood was pretty poor. It tool a lot of sanding and shaving on them to get them to remotely fit well. The hood was twisted and had to trim the mounting supports and the body where they go through. The engine is pretty well detailed. I converted the car to the Charger from the movie Bullitt, to go with my Bullitt Mustang.
great kit
this was the first one i did since i was a kid and it was a good choice being a 2n1. one issue i had was with the lover front bumber part not fitting very well but with a little sanding and work it fit just fine. this is a great kit to buy for everyone. if your into diorama it comes with extra parts up the yay yay best one is extra engine. very easy kit to build for starters, everything but 1 thing went together like butter loved it.
Factory Built Monster
By: Jimmy D.
The '68 Dodge Charger is a street ready factory built monster! With the 426 Hemi or the 440 Magnum engines available, you can be sure it showed its taillights to all comers. This Revell 1968 Dodge Charger kit wont disappoint either. This is a state of the art kit by all standards, and modelers of all skill levels will have fun with it. Short of actually owning the real McCoy, this Revell kit is the next best thing!
Very nice and well detailed kit.
By: dragonhawk1066
An excellent kit with lots of extra parts, including an engine stand w/engine for display, and 3 sets of rims. The parts fit was excellent, with no issues. Can be built either factory stock, or as a drag racer, or even mix and match parts for a street machine, which is how I built mine. I recently bought another to do as factory stock. If you like Mopar's or Muscle Cars in general, this one is a must have!
Favorite Charger ever
By: Alanittdesigns
I’ve been building plastic kits for over 40 years and this is my favorite, and my favorite Dodge Charger. I have only started on it and there are some challenges, but nothing I can’t handle. I am adding some other after market parts bought from Hobbylinc, and some other (drag city). Hobbylinc still has some of the best prices around. Hopefully some kits will come back in stock again.
2 times the fun!
By: hijenx1
I built this one twice. Great kit, no issues. I did a Dick Landy super stock race version & a stock version with a 440 six pack. Had a great time building both versions. The kit came with two complete engines & I used the Hemi in the race version & the 440 in the stock one with the addition of a six pack setup on it. I would highly recommend this kit for any model car builder out there.
Awesome 2n1 kit
By: grngbln1967
I always wanted to build a Charger. Loved this car even though I'm a Ford guy. The kit has options to build as an RT with a 440 and and automatic or as a drag car with a 426 Hemi. I'm sure you could build it as a Hemi street car, but the Hemi doesn't clear the stock hood. The kit is very detailed no matter how you choose to build it. Glad I added it to my collection.
Excellent Build
By: bearcat08
I chose to build the drag version and I must say it turned out really cool. The parts are well detailed and fitment is excellent. Little to no prep work to get parts cleaned up after coming off the sprue. The best surprise of all was the engine stand and parts to assemble a second motor, even tho it was the stock version in my case. Very nice addition to my collection
Not bad, but not great
By: rlw8718
I agree with other reviewers as to problems with fit and other issues. It is a basic kit, not real flashy. But I enjoyed building it because I grew up in the 60's car era when these rockets were around. I painted it a matt silver and wish I'd done something brighter. It is worth building, just take caution about these areas mentioned.
1st Build After 20+ Years Out Of The Hobby
This was my first build after a long absence from the hobby and I was impressed with the detail on this one. Decals for the gauges, very nice touch to add some detail easily for a novice like myself. Love the option of putting either engine you didn't use on a stand. Overall this kit has so many options it is pretty incredible!
Great Build
I enjoyed building this kit and after completing it, I realized that I could have done better by using a lighter color that would have accented the body lines better. I plan to build another one with more customization. Overall, it's a very nice kit, you won't be disappointed.
Blown hemi charger.
By: brogoff
This is a good kit with good detail, especially for a normal Revell kit. I added a B-N-L resins hemi Littlefield Blower kit to the car. It went on pretty easily with minimal modifications. I also threw door bars and rear bulkhead bars on the included rollbar to make a 6-point cage.
Score!!
By: omegatropper
Guys this is one very nice kit! You will have some choices make, like what engine to install . Two choices on wheel and tire combination and some interior choices. This kit is well worth the price and if you’re a kit basher, it is a gold mine. A great 68 Charger!!
Very good
Nice model car that can be built 1 of 2 ways. Actually reminds me of the dukes of hazard general lee same exact body. But can be built like the fast and furious black charger 1 of 2 motors. Nice for your muscle car collection. Thanks
Fun build
The quality of this kit is outstanding. The kit contains just the right amount of parts to provide an interesting level of detail without all the aggravation of gluing together hundreds of small parts. Overall, it was a fun build!
If you want a 68 Charger this is it
Very little molding flash, some twist in the chassis and front valance is a little short. Comes with 2 complete engines, Choice of rims, tires and interiors. Stock, street or drag body style. Get 2 more for the complete set.
My Charger

This was my first model in a decade and it sure was a fun one. I didn't apply most decals but I will build the same kit again one day. Everything line up well and I loved the interior. A great kit.
Great kit.
By: autumnlyons345
This is so far one of my best completed kits. As mentioned the front valance can be a pain but that was the only issue I found. With all the extras the kit has I wouldn't hesitate to build another
Nice Charger
Overall great kit except for a few fitment issues. Front valence and exhaust needed trimmed, and hood hinge spacing was a little off (I just eliminated 'em). Other than that, nice looking Charger!

Very impressed by the quality, and detail of this kit. Like all of the build options. The decal sheet is amazing. I bought this kit for my son I know I will be buying one for myself soon.
68 Charger
Everything was looking good until it was time to put it all together. I could not get the chassis far enough forward to align with the body.Of course I'm a little disappointed.
Excellent kit

This is the second one of these I've built, first being a Blade tribute.. Lots of detail & options... Excellent kit for an experienced builder or a beginner with help...
1968 Dodge Charger 2'n 1
By: enough35046
Great kit for the Mopar builder or any other model collector. Great kit for any collector. Features a 2'n 1 feature. A must have for the American Muscle collectors
Great kit
Love this kit. Have built 2, one stock one strip. Both versions came out great. Clean parts, many options, and easy to modify with your own little tweaks.
Great looking model
By: mahaneyr
Pretty easy to build, typical Revell issues, but nothing crazy or unexpected. The engine stand that comes with it is cool too!
Awesome 68
By: dannywsmith1974
Worth the buy. Goes together great. Alot of details. Plus you get an extra engine to build plus a stand. Awesome build.
Nice kit
Liked this kit except for the chrome R/T for the front quarter panels both of broke trying to cut them from the tree.
Awesome Kit

I've done one of these before, it was challenging but very fun at the same time. A great model kit.
Great Options
This model has great detail and many great options. I would recommend this model to any Dodge lover.

Grate kit
Grate kit it was just right to go along with my Bullet Mustang

Needs more engine customizing options. Overall, I like it.
