Very good quality kit. A must kit for Corvette Enthusiasts.
This kit's parts are precisely molded resulting in perfect fits all the time. Excessive flashing on the parts DOES NOT exist.
I would have like to have seen this race car engine have more detail than it did. The interior is extremely well detailed, but once assembled to the body very little can be seen of it, whereas you'll have the hood off more than the body.
Take some extra time and cut out the side exhaust outlets just below the doors to finish it off. I built mine as a street version with the intent of using the center black/grey racing stripe. I started with the hood and stopped there. The open that was stamped out in the decal did not fit the opening correctly. There was too much of a clear edge showing. The instructions should have advised you of this, so that you could attend to it before soaking the decal. I ended up not using the racing stripe for that reason,
Part #30 is a driver safety net, it is way to thick, cut a piece of black plastic screen and use it instead. Make sure really spend the time to test fit the glass into the body before final assembly. I had to enlarge the dowel hole in the glass to
get the glass to fit precisely.
By the way, there is a sister kit from Revell of Germany which cost more, the only difference I could find is that the illustrations in the build instructions are in color.
Awesome Decals
This kit makes for an awesome looking model on the shelf. The build quality by Revell is outstanding, with all parts fitting the first time without any filing or sanding. One of the best features is the fact that Revell painted the black surrounds of the windows so you don't have to mess with masking and painting. The decals are what really makes this kit shine. They are brightly colored and conform wonderfully to body contours with a minimal amount of decal solvent needed. The area where you will definitely need to have some type of solvent is on the hood decal so that it fits snuggly. The decal that goes inside hood scoop is a bit tricky to install, but take your time and it will fit nicely. This kit looks very sharp sitting on the shelf and is a great addition to my model collection.
Loved this kit!
I have to say this was one of my favorite builds! Everything fit properly and not a hint of flash. It's kinda of sad all the work put into the roll cage and engine will never be seen, but as a builder you know it's there and appreciate it. The only issue I had was getting the body to snug down on the chassis, but super glue took care of that. If only Revell included another set of decals for another livery I would certainly build another.
Surprisingly good for Revell
By: dbirge83
I normally build aircraft and revell isn't usually good. I took a chance because I wanted to build a Vette and was plesantly surprised. While some areas with the cage were tricky, the kit went together well. Instructions were fine. The decals went down ok but they were very delicate and the thin ones wanted to tear. Took extreme caution with the larger ones and didn't have major issues.
Complex but worth it
By: rlw8718
This was one of the more complex kits I've built. Having said that, it was really pretty easy to do. Many parts and complex sub assemblies, but it all fit together perfectly. Even the multi-part roll cage looked tough to fit, and yet it was a breeze as each piece fit just right. The directions were excellent. I think I'll do another I enjoyed it so much.
Good quality and fun to assembly
The driver's cage and doors were tricky to put together but I'm still satisfied with the results. There are good details on the internal parts but the body covers it all. They should come up with a way to display the body detached from the chassis so the internal details are always on display.
Metallizer paint on C-7 Corvette.
I don't have this kit yet, but it looks great! A little tip...use metallizer paints on the roll cage, and any bare metal parts such as the engine. You will not be disappointed. I have built the C-5 and C-6 using the Titanium and other colors, and they look wonderful! I'm ordering this one right now!
Disappointment
By: opusarlo
Fitment is popr, crisp detail but not a lot of it. Doors simply will not fit right without major alteration. This kit seems markedly below typical Revell standards. You can finish it if you have some experienfe in building, but for a beginner it will end up half built and back in the box.
Great kit easy to build
I built this kit after 20+ aircraft builds in a row. I wanted a kit that Was simple but looked great. This kit fit the bill! It looks fantastic after completed. There are a few trouble areas(it's not a Tamiya) but your not paying $50+ either ...
Awesome Model

Of the dozens of models I have built, I think this one is my favorite. The directions were thorough and accurate. Everything fit well and I love decals so this one does not disappoint. Plus I love how it looks! Love it!
This is a pretty well done kit.

A well done kit that, although lacking in drivetrain, chassis and suspension details, builds into a nice looking racer. Very good moldings and parts fit, with nice colorful decals. Just a fun build all-around!
Great Car!
Very fun build! Everything fits great and is a good challenge to build!
