Reviews : Roden Nieuport 24

This 1/72 scale kit comes from a very familiar Ukrainian modeling company called Roden. I’ve built quite a few kits from them over the years, some good, some not, the former in my opinion is a good one. The pros for this kit are as follows: You have five paint schemes to choose from and the one I did is on the cover of the box called Nieuport 24 s/n N3961, (pilot unknown), Escadrille N.91 Aviation Militaire, 1917. The other four paints schemes included are; Nieuport 24 s/n 4408, flown by Lieutenant Miodrag Tomych, Escadrille N.523 Aviation Militaire, Wertecop airfield, Serbia, September 1917., Nieuport 24 (serial and pilot unknown), Escadrille N.89 Aviation Militaire, 1917., Nieuport 24, possibly French-built, (serial, pilot and unit unknown), Japanese Army Air Force, Tokorozawa, 1917., the last one is Nieuport 24, s/n N3987 flown by Sous-Lieutenant William Herisson, an 11-victory ace of Escadrille N.75 Aviation Militaire, 1917. The majority of the components fit well with minimal sanding in the process. The decals got off the paper with no trouble at all. The cons for this kit are as follows: with the exception of s/n N3987, the other four paint schemes don’t have every view possible for painting and the placing of the decals. The rudder decals were slightly too big which forced me to trim them a bit. The wheel decals didn’t exactly settle into place as well as I hoped. The placing of the machine gun was more complicated than it has to be. Model Master 1789 Insignia Blue doesn’t exist as its actually Model Master 1719 Insignia Blue. In conclusion, I give this kit a rating of 4 stars out of 5. Roden if you’re reading this it’s a solid kit you have here. But there some issues like lack of views and the decals that prevented me from giving it a higher rating. Other than that good work out there.
