Finally a nice Super VC10
Roden's Super VC10 is a welcome surprise. The BOAC Type 1151 portrayed is G-ASGI, the ninth machine for BOAC, and it has a modified engine beavertail exhaust fairing as depicted by the kit. The kit is molded in a hard grey plastic and lacks very many alignment pins, but you will have to sand down the sprue runners before assembly. The panel scribing is done very finely and appears to be accurate, and it features cutout cabin windows with clear inserts. It appears from extra parts in the kit that an RAF K-3 or K-4 Tanker is planned for future release. The only negative on the decals is that the BOAC lettering and Speedbird tail symbol are dull gold instead of shiny gold foil as on the real aircraft. Only two airlines bought the Super VC10, East African Airways being the other (BOAC was also BOAC Cunard, and then British Airways), and Roden has also released the East African Type 1154 as kit 329. There are aftermarket decals available for other schemes as well. You'll like this kit
