Helpful photo reference
I used this book to help me build the Tamiya 1/350 USS New Jersey, and it was a big help! While it's not dedicated solely to the New Jersey, it still had many good color photos to help with painting. It basically walks the Iowa class ships from bow to stern, then up the decks to the top, with pictures along the way. Sometimes it will note when there are features specific to a ship.
There's not a lot of text about the operational history of the ships, so if that's what you're looking for, check around for some other history books. This is a good supplement to those, but is best as a really useful reference for modelers.
