Nice model, with a little bit of conversion on paint scheme
By: mmegee616
Just completed the ship, only used the hull number CVE-12 instead of Bogue. Painted the hull in a darker gray from boot top to base of gun tubs. Painted the island in a lighter gray and the planes in USN Sea Blue (model master). Flight deck is done in intermediate blue; what little deck space at aft and forcastle is painted in weather deck blue. Only had problem with the middle decal stripping down the middle of flight deck. The flight deck supports at bow just didn't quite fit, but made due. Painted gun barrels in gunmetal and the bases of the guns in a medium gray. Sprayed Testor's Dull Cote to take any shine off the paint. Pictures to follow. This would make a nice diorama using a destroyer or destroyer escort as the trailing ship for picking up pilots who have to ditch during training or returning from a mission.
Wonderful Piece of History to Build

People forget that these little carriers saved our butts during WWII as they were an important stop gap until the Essex's came along. I loved the kit as I was building a part of history that many overlooked, especially during the Philipenes landings. Wonderful fit an finish of parts, quite a few challenging aspects to keep it interesting, and a piece to be proud of once completed.
u.s. escort carrier cve9 boat
this model some of the parts are small but easy to put toghter. The inst are good a paint chart is good to the model come with parts for all of the class and decal for all of the class. the only problem I had was with the flight deck and the decal strips for the deck.
Great model of an often forgotten ship

This turned out to be one of my favorite ship models. It packs a lot of detail into a small package. The fits are good and it looks great on display.
Escort Carrier
A fun small build. good details and detail work needed to build. a Great neat nifty model of the mostly unsung Escort Carriers of WWII
the instructions could be a bit clearer
