Reviews : Tamiya German Machine Gun Troop Soldier Set

For me as a kid building these kits in the 1980s, the set was the cats meow of German figure sets from the second world war. The poses are great and packed with action which I really liked as I was building lots of dioramas that I wanted to tell a story. I like that the machine gun crews are firing, it is not common to have a loader and gunner show in working a tripod mounted German machine gun authentically. All that said, the sculpting and detailing is that the type seen in the 1980s. But the price is REALLY difficult to beat! Considering that price, the set is a great value and highly recommended.

Another older kit from Tamiya. Comes with 7 figures. Comes with the usual extras ie. Gas mask canisters, breadbags, canteens. Has enough helmets for all figures and also 2 field caps for either the crew laying down as depicted or you can mix and match. The soldier with binoculars also works greats in other dioramas if you so desire. Comes with a decal sheet for the helmet insignia for luftwaffe, army, or ss. All figures are in action poses if looking for a kit with marching poses i recommend the Tamiya German machine gun crew on maneuvers set

GREAT SET for the Price, 100% UPGRADE for any project/Diorama!!! 7 Figures, + Weapons + Extra Detail pieces!! Molds Are Very Clean, Clean-up needed on some parts, still very limited. Part of figures fit well, Putty here & there if you customize figures poses!! Take your time & pay attention to the DETAILS!! ALL Uniforms ARE NOT THE SAME COLOR, In Later Years of the War!! I cut my serious model building teeth on this set and with many like it. The figures all represent actual combat poses as the German Army was made up of machine teams with several riflemen to protect the teams. The figures are very well detailed and have no imperfections that I could find. There are extra detailing parts which can all be incorporated into a scene. I highly recommend this set to anyone.

This was a fun kit to put together, everything went fine, no fitting issues. Only thing that happened was the ammo belt for the MG42 broke when I cut from the sprue so caution when cutting that is advised, I didn't make the same mistake with the MG34 belt haha. These will make a great addition to so many dioramas or even just by themselves in a stand alone scene! Definitely recommend.

I picked a box of these up a while a go. Must have been about 2 years ago. Figures are really good and the instructions are pretty straight forward. These would look good in a diorama. My only complaint is, why are all the machine gunners firing? I wish there was an MG teach on march. It would make this kit much more useful. But, its good for the price.

This was my first Tamiya kit, or military kit for that matter. Very fun to build, excellent details and plenty of extra bits. I can only say take a little care when lining up hands with machine gun grips, but other than that I’ve zero complaints. I mean, c’mon....seven lil’ dudes for the price of a song? All day, boys. Get it!

Hello, id like to mention that the parts went together well with little to no putty. The details are excellent. I put them on a Diorama and the action of the soldiers operating the MG15's make the battle scene very dramatic. I've never had a problem with any Tamiya Hobby supplies.

Great Model for beginner, easy to read instructions included and on back of box. easy to follow paint guide on back. gear and weapons' accurate for WWII. Can Be used as a Stand alone Diorama or as an add on kit for Eastern Front, Western Front Or North African campaign.

Bought a miniart kit from my local hobby store and wanted some more German figures to go with this. This kit was great and was exactly what I was looking for. Highly detailed, good directions. Minimal flash and looked great after priming and painting. Worth the buy.

Nice figures, though dated from their original decades-old release. The fine detail (e.g. plastic flash) of the hands, etc. are generally not to the very high modern standards, but it is nonetheless a great and inexpensive kit that can look very good when completed.

This kit finally arrived today and I'm glad to see that the original cover art is still printed on the box. This will definitely come in handy when deciding what kind of a diorama to include it in.

If your looking to get figures Tamiya is the way to go. They always have a abundant amount of extras to go with the figures. They are also molded very well so everything fits great and looks seamless.

Units are high quality,weapons look realistic,uniforms too.Like that HMG for sure.Their faces look weird though,but firepower is powerful.

One of Tamiyas older figure set. But, still very good. And, a great set to start your figure painting with.

The figures and weapons included in this kit are very well articulated and very close to the real thing

This is a nice decent set of soldiers, I probably wouldn't recommend them to beginners though.

Tamiya1/35 military models are the best on the market. Hobbylync has them all.

Good price for what you get more details then other sets similar to this.

It can be put into a diorama in d day and this can go in any diorama

Only bad part is the tripod for the mg42 is super weird to put on.
