Reviews : Tamiya German Panther Medium Tank

The kit may be old and have many flaw, but if you are a beginner or just want to relax and building something easy it will do the job. Those who say the kit is full of inaccuracy, you may be right but it is not different for newer Panther Kit regardless the company. All have some degree of inaccuracy because in the 4 years the Panther was built by the German, every month that pass there where change on the vehicle as it exit the production line. It's not like there was only 3 models ever made (Panther D, A and G) without any modification during there production. For example if different company (Tamiya, Dragon or Trumpeter) was to put on the market a kit of a Panther Ausf A, depending of the company they will have some difference in the component for the same types of Panther. When the kit was originally release it was as a RC Tank, and many evidence can be found as you are building it. The lower hull still show the holes in the bottom, there is a battery holder inside the hull, the teeth on the return wheel are just few examples of it's origin. Regardless it will not be a problem for building it and you can easily fix that. But if you are a beginner it should not bother you if it is not fix. Despite being an old kit and for some who say you get what you pay for, overall it is not that bad. The kit come with rubber track, fairly good details components on the vehicle, like you can see the welding seams everywhere and many surfaces of the vehicle show good details. The kit include 2 crew members (Commander and driver). Waterslide Decals It is probably one the best set of decals I ever found in a kit. You may be restricted with the choice of the numbers you will put on your vehicle but I find it really minor. Numbers are 223 - 309 and 421 but the great think is you have 3 set or should I say 4 set of each number. The german forces put the number on there tank on the left and right side of the turret and also at the rear of the turret on the storage box and if there is no storage box sometimes they paint of a smaller size the number at the back of the turret. Also they have 4 standard german cross, 3 will be use with this vehicle (one on each side and on the back). 1 Victory marking to be place on the barrel. And you have the option of 10 different Divisional Signs to be place on the front right of the vehicle (Totenkopf (1942-1945), Hohenstaufen (1944), Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler (1943-1945), 3 panzer division (1940-1945), 18 Panzer Division (1940-1945), 13 Panzer Division (1940-1945), 4 Panzer Division (1940 campaign of France), Das Reich (1942), Grossdeutschland (1940-1945) and 6 Panzer Division (1941-1945). Painting Unfortunately for the beginner there is no help. The kit offer only a basic color information/explanation use by the German throughout the war. There is no color reference for the different component (tools, exhaust, road wheel, etc). With some research over the internet you should be able to find easily all information needed. Conclusion For a beginner it is a great kit to consider. It's inexpensive, easy to put together (172 parts), so nothing to fancy. For those, more advance modeler you may consider this kit if you are more interested of spending your time in painting/weathering instead of building. It will give you a good opportunity to experience some paint scheme and weathering details at a fraction of the cost of a more details kit.

This is a great model. It's simple yet when done looks as good as a more detailed model. I found Tamiya models during my junior high school years. This is one of the first I built and now have built five since picking up the modeling bug once again in my sixties. The original is long gone but I still remember how I enjoyed building it all those years ago. It is an older model without all the bells and whistles that are included in newer models but I feel it still holds up. Check the photos. I have three Tamiya tanks and one done by a company called Das Werk. The Das Werk has more detail but I don't see much difference between them. I also like this model as it allows you to show hatches open or closed, something that doesn't happen on more detailed models. Also liked the fact you don't have to build the whole gun. All you get is the barrel which is fine with me as I don't have xray vision to see through the turret to look at the breech and accompanying parts. Simple is fine with me. Would recommend to anyone who wants to get together a platoon of panthers. Quick build and cheaper than other varieties. Only problem are the decals. Not enough different vehicle numbers so you'll have to go through any saved decals from other models to find something you can use.

Since I started building models, decades ago, Tamiya has always been considered to be of very high quality. Over the years, they have continually improved their tooling and production, yet older kits such as this still stand the test of time. This kit has a fine level of detail. For the price of the kit, one cannot go wrong. Some other kits will have multiple hundreds of parts, with small details to attach... Sometimes I think this is done just to claim how many parts the kit has. Thus equating parts count to detail level. This kit does not fall into that. The armor has a detailed texture, and the weld seams are very well done. There are some small parts to glue on, but not so small that a hotter glue will disolve them. That small type of detail is cast on. The one piece tracks are nicely detailed, however the builder will need to be creative to get them to sit on the roadwheels portraying proper track tension. The builder will also need to work on the seam along the gun tube to make it disappear as it should. There are a lot of after market parts that can be used on this kit. This makes it a great bargain for those wanting to go all out on a researched build, or those wanting a great kit just out of the box. Perfect for shelf display and dioramas.

This is an older Tamiya kit that went together well. Not very many parts and basic so it's an easy build. Since it's an older kit the quality on some things aren't there like newer kits. The instructions are adequate for assembly but vague. Some issues are... 1. The figures aren't very detailed so I didn't use them. 2. The tracks are the one piece rubber band type so you don't get the track sag with them. I had to super glue the tracks to the top of the road wheels to create the sag. 3. The tow cables are straight leaving you to figure out how to shape them to the sides. The instructions tell you to place them in warm water and then shape them, this does not work. You could very carefully use a candle to heat the plastic to shape it. There also isn't a pin or attachment point on the tank for the rear of the cable to attach to. I used thread to simulate rope and tied the ends of the cable to the back of the tank. 4. The viewing ports or periscopes for the driver and tank commander are open and makes it look incomplete. For the price, it's a good older simple kit but there isn't much to it. Would I build it again? Sure.

This 1/35 scale Panther tank is scaled about right, it's large, but it doesn't have as much detail as I would've hoped for on such a large model. For the price though, I suppose it makes sense. POSITIVES: I like the wheels on this one, they show the rivets well, and they roll very smoothly. There are a LOT of moving parts which I consider a plus. The driver top hatch, coaxial gunner top hatch, driver forward hatch, turret escape hatch, ball machine gun, and commander's cupola all can move. The gun carriage latch is not supposed to move, but with some careful cutting of discarded sprue, I got mine to rotate. Also, it comes with a driver that can be placed looking either from the top or forward hatches. NEGATIVES Turret back armor plate has some fit issues and required some putty The jack had very weird instructions. I ended up cutting off the guide rod and glueing it where I saw fit. The instruction's resolution is a bit low - it's difficult to tell the orientation on on some small parts There are no directions on where the tow wires should go - you can basically put them anywhere, but it'd be nice if they said that

Ok, it's a Panther-- one of the big cats of Germany. What others have said are still true-- the rubber band tracks, while detailed, are shorter than what they should be and don't fit well. There should be some slack back towards the idler wheel where it rests on the top of the drive wheel and with the rubber band tracks it makes it impossible to do so. The decals are excellent-- a broad variety of units beyond the usual popular (which I don't understand) SS units. It would be nice to have more generic numbers (1,1,2,2,3,3,R, etc) to make a model beyond the programmed one, but that's a minor quibble. I would love to see decals for vehicles participating in certain battles-- say Arracourt for instance. Running gear assembly-- that's a bit of a challenge because certain road wheels go in certain places so careful attention to detail on that is really important. I would like to see as an option the outside heater unit that equipped some Panthers starting in the fall of 1944. Took me about three days of assembly. Still working on a track solution so no photos as of yet.

This kit was the first armor kit I've done. I am an airplane guy, so it took some courage to venture out. All-in-all a nice kit for its age. The fit was great. Detail good. Overall assembly was good. Some modifications I did to make the kit better: 1. I replaced the kit rubber band tracks with aftermarket tracks from Friuil Model. Definitely worth the cost to make the tracks realistic. 2. I added aftermarket shackles to the aft of the tank. 3. I added an aftermarket antenna and base. 4. I scratch-built grab handles for the commander's cupola and the engine hatches. They were completely missing from the model. the decals were good. I couldn't find the unit they belonged to, so I did a paint scheme to match that of the 12th SS Panzer Division located at Normandy in June 1944. The paints I used were Tamiya lacquers, Tamiya acrylics, and Model master enamels. I will add photos shortly. Bottom line is, I recommend this kit.

This kit is another from the Tamiya line that has been around for some time now, having built my own version back in 1997. It does produce a good quality and reasonably detailed version of the PzKpfW V Panther A Late Production medium tank. The tread system has only the long rubber strip type, which requires a little extra care to assemble/install. The kit comes with commander and driver figures, which is nice for the price. The price and complexity of the kit make it another good one for relatively inexperienced modelers/painters to work with, while still making a decent-looking unit. If Tamiya ever updates the kit, it would be nice to see optional molded sectional or individual link tread, and perhaps the short hanging side-skirting armor plates many of the tanks type were equipped with. Overall, the kit is of good quality and reasonably detailed, and I would recommend it to others.

This kit turned out very cool. The tank itself is larger than I would have guessed based on the size of the box. The quality of the kit is very good. My only complaint is with the one piece treads. This kit's treads only have one row of pins connecting the two ends, and it was difficult to get the connection satisfactory. Most of the Tamiya kits I have done before have at least two rows of pins - unfortunately, this one did not. The treads aside, the model is awesome. As usual, the kit comes with tools for the tank (shovel, sledge hammer, crow bar, jack, cables, etc.) A commander (full figure) and a driver (torso only) come with the kit, but the detail of the figures seems a bit lacking. Overall, even with the few slight drawbacks, the kit is impressive and well worth the price.

I saw how cheap this was and had to get it! I built it as a kid and wanted to use as practice using Vallejo airbrush paints. It was a fun, basic build. I'll never understand why Tamiya thought it a good idea to leave off the hull above the tracks!!! I just cut strips from the box glued in place to fill in this area. I never liked the see through hull look! Once finished and painted, this baby looks awesome!! I super glued the tracks to the road wheels to simulate the tracks sagging.It's a good beginner kit or something nostalgic to build for us old timers! The scale looks a little large, but I have not measured it for accuracy. Buy it, build it & have fun!! I did a 3 color camo on mine and it looks really nice! Those Vallejo paints worked well. Even my son was impressed!!

This is one of Tamiya's oldest kits.It has been around since the 70s unchanged.It is on oldie but a goody.It builds a great looking Panther Ausf. A with thirteen moving features.However there are reasons that I only rate it as good:1.It needs a full lower hull.2.The antiaircraft machine gun mount is unlike anything I have seen in photographs and needs to be replaced with the mount assembly from Tamiya's Panther G kits.3.The tow cables cannot be bent without ruining them.4.The Commander does not sit squarely in the cupola facing forward.and,5.The two piece barrel and muzzle brake assembly needs replacing with metal ones preferably made by ABER although Tamiya has recently released metal gun barrel kits.There is one more good thing-The ease with which this kit builds.

Kit is great ! Tamiya never disappoints with quality . The price of Tamiya models is always lower and I do think this reflects on part count and assembly difficulty . I had been away from building models for years ,needed something to do while the boy is over so we build models . I love Hobbylinc and the prices , always something to shop for . I have moved on to more challenging models with much higher parts count but look at Tamiya for something the boy can do . I do wish Tamiya had some more choices for tracks like their Char B1 bis which are awesome ! This Panther kit was the best fitting , easy to assemble with instructions of highest order . One cannot argue with Tamiya quality . This kit is great for beginners , good for experimenting on finish painting .

This is one of the kits that got me back into modelling. Pandemic, stuck at home and needed something to do. Enter Tamiya German Panther at a price that cannot be sneezed at. After a year and several kits later I would give the following: a) it's an old kit; b) its a doddle to build; c) its an impressive size; d) there are not a lot of tiny pieces; e) its unimpressive. Don't get me wrong it is a worthy kit but my first paint scheme was not the best and I revisited it into a winter camouflaged version. At this price I have in mind 3 Panthers at the edge of woods diorama and maybe Tamiya's equally inexpensive Russian tanks. Boring as a kit by itself on the shelf, it needs something extra to show it off; maybe a Tank Ammunition Loading crew??

This Panther seemed to be a pretty good model. As the first one I had ever done it seemed straight forward although there were a few problems. 1. The tracks were a massive pain to get together! 2. The gun barrel was a little bit uneven and didn't fit right. 3.The cables you are meant to put on the side just snapped for me, after boiling them I expected them to bend as the directions say, they did not and just snapped. The final issue was the directions were a little unclear. The Idler wheel has pins that are meant to be cut off but pictures did not show it cut off as well as the hatches that were meant to be open but weren't... overall it was a pretty good beginner model and worth the price!

My son and I built this aprox 2007 and had a blast. At the time I couldn't believe the detail. Since then we have become more demanding in this regard as our skills have grown but I give Tamiya kudos for keeping this model in production at such a reasonable price. I am on the ?fith repaint to explore things I have been learning and am constantly surprised how well this model responds and surprises.Perhaps I don't always need to spend two to three times as much to have a fun experience with such rewards. My rating is average because that is where this model stands in modern terms as far as detail but in terms of value this is five stars.You can build an outstanding model with this kit.

Got this model on Thursday and my grandson and I had it finished by Sunday. This is an excellent model! Very well laid out and detailed. Parts are well molded and fits together like hand and glove. This would be a good starter model for anyone just starting out in model building; challenging, but not overly complicated. The only con I could find is you have to cut the pins off the Idler Wheel (C3)and there is ten on each Idler Wheel, for a total of twenty. For an experienced adult this is no problem, however, I don't think I would let a child try to perform this task; just a little bit to dangerous.

This is a good starter kit, which will go together relatively easy without excessive parts. If you are looking for a good first kit, or practice kit (don't want to spend a lot on practicing a new technique) this kit will work well for you. The parts will need a little cleaning and details are not quite as sharp as a modern model. The tracks also do not work with plastic cement, so fixing them will require a superglue or other non-cement glue. Figures are included, so you can build it with a driver and commander to make it a little more life-like. I enjoyed this kit as a first build, and so should you.

I found this model to be a great build. It takes some planning to get the overlapping wheels put together, but well worth the time. Very detailed and comes with a driver and a commander figure. Good model for putting next to a Sherman of the same scale for displaying just how outclassed Allied tanks were compared to the Sherman tanks. I plan on making a diorama for the Cologne tank battle between a US Sherman, this Panther and a US Super Pershing. This model will not let you down. Also, decals come for 3 different options in markings.

This is a great kit at an even greater bargain price. If you're able to read and comprehend simple instructions you'll have absolutely no problems at all with this wonderful kit. I'd strongly recommend this amazing kit to anyone from a first time glue kit person to the old grizzled glue army veterans. Someone had mentioned that they thought this tank was too big for a 1/35 scale diorama, they didn't evidently understand that this tank was a beast and dwarfed all other tanks on the battlefield. Build it and enjoy!!!

Wow a Tamiya tank kit for only $16.69 what a bargain! I will likely get a few more and do some different camo schemes that can be found on tankencyclopedia.com. I did a color scheme that used the Humbrol Maskol that was demo'ed on Youtube. It came out nice for the first try. Kit builds well. Detailed well and the crew figures are okay. For being called a medium tank it is quite large. Tracks are the rubbery plastic called TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) and are typical to that which is found on most Tamiya kits.

Typical Tamiya fun build. Detailed but not overly so. No flash, good fit. The figures are old Tamiya out scaled on the large side, inadequately detailed and over molded, but the vehicle more than makes up for it. This tank is part of a recently completed diorama inc a kubelwagon, a Mercedes Benz type 170 staff car and a quad 20mm aa gun and crew, all arranged around a division command building and generals quarters. I had no false expectations and am pleased with the result. The price absolutely cannot be beat.

Very disappointed in this kit. There are holes in the bottom of the hull for the not included electric motor and controls. Additionally, there are large gaps between the hull and the top. Tamyia should identify their old electric motor kits as all of the are very lacking in realism. While it is not a complex process to fill these holes and gaps it would have been better had I known in advance that this was an old electric kit. It is however an easy kit to assemble if you do not care about the holes and gaps.

I recently finished building this kit. Overall it didn't take very long to build. There are some fitting issues. The commander does not fit correctly into the hatch. It has rubber band tracks, one of mine snapped trying to fit it on. Also the instructions call for the tow cables to put left in hot water and then carefully bent to shape, both snapped during this process. That all being said it was fun to build and for the price a good kit for beginners or to try out different weathering techniques.

This was my s3cond 1:35 build, I'm hooked on this scale now after building the Panther! It looks amazing, lots of details, everything fit perfectly without flash or sanding involved! All hatches open and close, tracks and wheels move, only thing I thought was strange was with all the moving parts there wasn't an option to have the main gun move up or down. That said this was still my favorite build to date! Will look amazing once painted! I totally recommend for all ages and skill level!

This is a great kit from Tamiya. The details are nice and crisp. As with any Tamiya kit I have built, there is very little flash, always a great fit and the instructions are very easy to follow. I was a little disappointed by the rubber band tracks as I feel you get better detail out of molded plastic ones. If you are willing to spend a little extra money, you can really detail the tank. I'd recommend this kit to anyone, as the only thing I saw wrong with the kit were personal preferences.

i got this kit for christmas, and i remember building this kit when i was a kid. overall a good kit for beginners not a lot of parts and everything fit good together, and overall a simple kit for kids. the price is good, and there are room for up grades and add-on's. the con's are the kit is for to be motorized and i wish Tamiya would update this kit, and if you a big model builder this kit is very simple to builded, maybe to simple at times. overall it's a great kit.

Tamiya is famous for keeping with the tradition of high quality models even with changes over the years and the Panther is no exception. Built to fight Soviet tanks the Panther holds its own anywhere and my model excels in the Winter. The kit is an older molding and holds some small detail issues but is overall a great kit with lots of detailing potential and room for including two to three crewmen as shown. This is a great starter kit and I highly recommend it to all modelers for fun.

An older kit that is fairly straightforward and easy to build. An oddity mentioned previously is the barrel halves. If you can mitigate this it comes out ok. The scale is slightly off and this is a common review point. If you just want a representation of a Panther you can get by but if you're looking for any level of accuracy this kit won't give you that level of detail. It is a fun build though. I would recommend for beginners as it will help you build your skills.

This is a great model kit. I would recommend it for all skill levels. The one thing I dislike is the size. It seems a little large for 1/35th Scale. Other than that, I loved this model, and the quality of this with the technology they had back in the 70's is amazing. It includes very detailed parts and one and a half figures. I also dislike the fact that the gun barrel is molded in two halves, which means that, without a bit of work, it can come out slightly odd looking.

This is an inexpensive Tamiya kit from years ago. It goes together well and for the price is a good deal. There is not an interior; the detail is on the outside, which makes the kit look good if you don't look too close. The instructions are not well written and there is no painting examples and no explanation of the different decal markings. Overall a good inexpensive kit and fun to build but not a challenge for an experienced modeler.

I have built two of these. The kit has good detail and is easy to assemble. The instructions however have a few areas that they do not depict certain steps. Overall good kit. My advice on this kit would be not to mount the top of the hull to the bottom of the hull until you have absolutely finished your build and paint because you need to access the top of the hull from the inside (driver, commander, open opening hatches, ect.).

It was a pretty straight forward build. The instruction were confusing for me at some parts, and the wheels were somewhat of a pain to put on, especially since two of the wheels wouldn't even slide on, I had to resort to sanding off some of the plastic from the axle. The tracks included seemed to short to me since it would bend one of the wheels back. Other than that the kit is very well made and very nice looking when completed

Very good kit, decent detail for the price, easy to assemble.* * -Tracks can be difficult to put together if you don't really know to assemble them (Good way, at least I found, is to heat up some pliers and crush the connectors together) -Needed to Dremel out some of the roadwheels so they would fit, but wasn't too much of a problem. All in all I'd recommend this kit for people with very basic knowledge.

This was a fun build. My first Tamiya model and it went together pretty smoothly. The only hiccups I had was the instructions were different for me and seemed a bit hard to follow in a few small instances, and the mounting of the rubber track. One of mine was too short by about 1/2 an inch. It would not wrap around the wheels without that gap. So I had to steal another track from a different kit to finish.

I liked this kit because it was straightforward and well-detailed. Example - I appreciated not having to assemble five different tiny pieces to make a vehicle jack. The details are crisp and acceptable. The only really drawback are the “peek-a-boo” fenders, but they are only seen with the turret removed. It was just fun to build, and this would be an excellent introductory kit for a beginner.

Built this kit many years ago, one of Mr. Tamiya's early offerings from the 1970's. At the time it was a nice rendition of a Panther for your shelf. It has a seamless fit,(like all Tamiya kits), that new modelers will like. But it has been surpassed by newer offerings from Meng, Tankom & Dragon to name a few. Better than average but falls short when compared to newer molds.

This Tamiya kit is from the 1970s so is a bit dated compared to newer kits, but still is a very enjoyable build in my opinion. Only real issue is the drive sprockets on the front the connection point is weak so they tend to pull outward when the track is installed. I substituted some steel rod (1/64 dia.?) to correct this toe out. Still a great kit for a weekend build.

This kit is not only a good starting point for anyone new to model building, but a great addition to any collection or diorama of armor. While the kit looks to be older, it is easily assembled and requires little finessing to make it perfect. It is also quite easy to modify for special configurations. Overall, very impressive and a great tank for the price.

A very bare-bones model, as reflected by the price. As with any Tamiya kit fitting and build will not be an issue. However, this kit lacks in detail and notably has a massive gap underneath the fenders or above the tracks. Tracks are also those old rubber ones that look funky, especially without any side skirt armor. Great intro kit - I've built 2

Went together well. Nice detail. The kit was actually made in 1967. That being said. It was still a good build. My only complaint is the tracks. Being the old rubber band type. They really don't hold paint and weathering well. Also it is difficult to get them to conform to the road wheels. Nonetheless, still a fun , good build.

It's a low piece count kit for anyone. I've just started and it's falling into place. The only problem I've got is where the turret fits. It's a small problem but nothing to sweat over. Great detail and best of all is the price. I should've ordered two or three. It's a great kit and will go great in a diaroma

I took up modeling at the age of 10, and stopped a couple years after. Now I am back in and re-learning the ropes as a more mature builder, and it is because of this kit. Simple, yet rewarding to build, it got me back into modeling! Aside from some extremely slight defects which I'm sure can be fixed with putty, this is an excellent kit.

This model is incredible for the price. This is a huge tank, as it dwarfs my other tanks of this scale. I loved putting this model together and detailing it. I decided to go with grey for painting, and I will say that I am very happy with that choice. I would definitely recommend this model to any modeler, regardless of experience.

This is a very detailed tank model. What was so great about this model is how easy it is to build. Another great thing about this model is how the hatches open and close. The turret turns and raises and lowers and the tracks turn. The only thing that was kind of tricky was connecting the tracks ends.

Tamiya Panther Medium tank, Excellent value for the money, excellent for a novice or an expert with a little detailing. Pros: Tamiya Quality moulds, very minimal flash, easy assembly. Cons None really just a little putty and creativity are required, great tank for a beginner with a great end result!

this is a very good kit well worth the few bucks it cost. parts lined up as they should and the fit was good. great kit for any skill level as the instructions and the assembly are quite easy. all around a good kit plus the finished product it quite large. recommend this one to everyone. thanks

This Tamiya offering was up to Tamiya's normal excellence. The detail is very good, hardly any flash which was easily removed with a hobby knife. Although an experienced modeler would not need the instructions, they were very clear and concise. For a static display this model is a keeper.

This wasn't easy to build per say, but it wasn't difficult either. I glued everything together and filled-seams sanded easily. The tracks on this one aren't terrible so I decided not to go aftermarket. I messed up the paint job so I ended up heavily weathering this to cover the mistake up.

This set is a pretty good one. It is a little on the larger side of 1/35th scale. If you need a really cheap tank that you can build in only a matter of hours, this kit is for you! Also, if you are needing extra parts for Panther tanks, this kit is also really good just for the parts!

Good model, very enjoyable build, until I got to the treads. Rubber treads were about an inch too short. Attempted to stretch gently in warm water. All that did was stretch the treads out of shape, and they didn't get longer. Having trouble finding replacements

Nothing high tech about this kit. Just basic modeling here. Even to todays standards this is an outstanding kit. Just about any level of modeler can build up an awesome Panther. The beginner may have a problem with the old style tracks. They do not glue up very well

This kit has some nice details, despite being an older Tamiya production. My favorite features were how the hatches could open after assembly, particularly the escape hatch at the back of the turret, and the ball-mounted machine gun at the front of the tank body.

Nice kit even bein' an old mold-old tech one, but with some patience and effort can make a great lookin' model, 2 cons i've found: tricky assembly of the gun mantlet and poor detail on the spare tracks, anyway can be easily modified to become a berge version.

This is a great kit for starters, didn't take much time to complete and it's very detailed with lots of parts and options. I found this to be a great starter kit for my 12 year old and I highly recommend this kit to everyone ....two thumbs up Tamiya

Great kit for the price anyone can build it if they wanted. The parts fit together real nice with good detail. I can’t wait to put it in a diorama. Be careful with back hach it can open unless you cement the joints together.

This kit is very basic and is very affordable out of all the Panther variants out in the market. You will need to work on the plastic treads to get them to sag over the front drive sockets for static display. Well worth the cost.

I've built a few of these. this ones going in my Pommern collection for a diorama.based off of the nashorn. its an easy model to build although older. I left out the crew members. going to add different ones later.

If I can I want to use more of creativity and get a chance to model a pair of these very powerful panther 5,s into cobra vehicles and a pair of Lee tanks into g i joe models not a thing wrong with it not.in my book

Typical of Tamiya value for money. This a great kit that has plenty of detail for its price. The build is smooth and fun, with clear instructions. The result is a true representation of this magnificent tank.

what a kit! And for the price too. what a buy, one of the best panzer variants before the tiger and king tiger came onto the scene, had a long 75mm gun. all for under $20 bucks, when most are around $40.

This kit is a replacement for one I built over 30 years ago. Really looking forward to building this classic kit. It may end up in a diorama, but at this point I'm just happy to have this kit again.

I have been collecting world war 1 and 2 models forever and I've never been able to find this tank it has really great desighn and so much detail I wouldn't be surprised if it cam to life and blew me up

As a return model builder from years ago it was a pleasure building this tank, although the directions for installation of the tracks were very very vague, for a beginner it would be very difficult.

This is a great model for new builders. However, the detail of the model is not very good. A few of the steps are unclear. Overall, it was very easy to build but the final product was disappointing.

Great price and easy to assemble. Looks like a Panther, however the dimensions on the turret are not completely accurate. Details are soft and not up to date for modern standards. Great retro build.

Good kit, the fit was perfect. For this price you get a lot of plastic. At the end of the build is looking like it needs more details, but you can work on chipping and filters.

Picked up this kit to get back into modeling after years. I found no issues with fit or anything and recommend this kit for anyone looking to start or get back into modeling

This kit is fairly easy to build with some hiccups along the way. There is some flash to take care of (not too much) and seams are to be expected. It is lovely to weather.

Old kit, but still interesting. Parts fit well, the wheels were complex but not complicated. I used rattle cans and silly putty to get a pretty good camouflage effect.

I Enjoyed building this tank. The turret on mine required some putty and sanding for a proper fit, but other than that this kit was a lot of fun.

This was a good build . Not much flash, pieces fit well. Took some time to complete . Overall I was very pleased .

The Panther is as big as the Tiger during ww2. The 1/35 models accurate. The Panther is a fun model.

This has good detail, a few this need to be added. But overall this is a great kit to start with.

This was a wonderful model to put tougher.Had modify the tracks a little,but that was easy.
