Reviews : Tamiya German Front Line Infantry Soldier Set

Great set from the 90s. Real dynamic poses depicting German troops in combat. The quality of the detail has made these figures among some of the best WW2 era figures I've seen. Great selection of late war weapons like the G43 and STG44 plus the MG42 and a Panzerfaust. As w/ most Tamiya kits, these figures can be loaded with a full kit or sparsely equipped. You can definitely get a lot of mileage out of these figures through swapping and modding parts. Details such as folds in the clothe and seams of jackets, trousers, and helmet covers are intricately rendered. You also get a strong sense of intense fighting in each character's sculpt that directly relate to a single scene rather than just a random set of poses. Another great thing about Tamiya's box sets are the painting guides for uniforms and in this case the various camouflage patterns.

Of all the Tamiya figure kits that I have done, this one is the best by far. Some of the older Tamiya kits are lacking in sharp details - uniform detail and faces seem to be sculpted from slightly melted wax. But not this kit. The faces, the uniforms, the weapons and equipment are all very crisp and clear. The kit has a variety of weapons, including mp-40, sturmgaver, panzerfaust, grenades, combat knives and an mg-42 with a long ammo belt. Plus, there are five figures in this kit, which for the price is very nice. All in all, a highly recommended kit with much better quality than the normal Tamiya figure sets.

To begin, these are nice figures. As ausult infantry they do not have all the equipment of other sets but I am going to have another of this set. I did have a problem with some fitting of parts but a bit of putty put that to rights. For the price this is very good money spent. Also, using my imagination, I can envisage a number of uses for these guys. Leave the equipment and trade the helmets for caps and they are working in the rear areas.

I got this kit about a year ago at my local hobby shop. I have nothing but good stuff to say about it! The pieces fit together very well and they fit in very well with my other SS infantry figures. The detail is also amazing! I would give these figure an 8 out of 5. I highly recommend!

Released a few years ago, this is set is far more detailed than the old Tamiya figure kits. There are 5 soldiers in this kit, with various camouflage uniforms. Great for practicing. The one figure throwing the grenade is a bit hard to build.

I really like this kit. You can see how Tamiya has improved its quality through the years. Just compare the pose of the grenade thrower in this kit to that in the original Tamiya German paratroopers kit. The difference is pretty amazing.

I really like poses of these guys. You can use in various settings for your diorama, or just single person small display. very detailed, few extra parts and weapons for different settings... Great guality, tamiya quality

This kit was great, this is the second one I built. The realism is excellent, weapons are very good. I would recommend this kit to anyone, new are old experience , it doesn’t matter. The price is very reasonable.👍

Super fun set of figures and they're a breeze to put together. These guys were so much fun I've ordered a second set.
