Go Navy
By: snod
This is my second time I have built this kit. It is an excellent kit. After building it the first time. I remember all the times I saw a Navy-blue jeep in old movies. Being a Navy vet myself I got another kit and changed things. I found Tamiya's Navy blue (AS-8) when I was building Tamiya F4U Corsair. I fell in love with the color and thought it would be perfect for this project. I used the Navy blue and most of the decals. On the ones that show the U.S.A. decal. I removed the (A) and used a (N) so that it read U.S.N.. I had to order other decals for the (N). I got HO scale railroad gothic letter and number in white from Hobbylinc. They worked perfect. I also used the (Military Police) decals that came with the kit. Left all the guns, tow bar and wire cutter off. I used the driver and used colors that I thought would be best for WWII time period. Then I add 'SP' decals from the HO scale for his helmet. It came out GREAT. I might just build a yellow colored jeep also. I used a old stripped down one for aircraft maintenance on the flight line in the late 70s. Use your imagination and past memories and enjoy the build.
Memories
Built this type of model back in the second or third grade. Jump ahead fifty or so years and decided to do it again and give to my grandson. One I built long ago was a Monogram model this one is much better. As usual the models companies today have you making the engine then only provide a hood open or close option, why not one that open and closes. Small detail but if you want to save time don't mess with the engine and have a closed hood or build it and have an open hood. If closed don't look at the bottom of the jeep and you will never know the engine is missing. Only thing I miss from the older Monogram model is an anti-tank gun was included, would have been nice to have one here. Other than what was mentioned above it went together without any problems. Nice quick build.
JEEP on Patrol
Another fine model from Tamiya that lends itself to lots of detailing and most of all muddy looks! No model deserves to sit looking clean and the JEEP along with the JEEP and MP figures from Tamiya and Miniart are the perfect combination. I built the kit straight from the box but went on to add tons of details, whoops, it's only a quarter ton, well anyway there's a radio set with the operator, the L-T that is standing up! and the driver and the MPs wondering what he's doing. No, this is not a new issue but another fine Tamiya model that just keeps coming back to anyone's collection as Tamiya cannot be beaten. I would recommend this kit to anyone with some experience with wheels and axels as the complexity of the undercarriage in the kit is something to be studied.
Good old classic tamiya kit
Another great old clastic from Tamiya. I built this kit many many moons ago and was working on a diorama and needed a jeep.. well it turns out this kit was perfect for what I needed. the detail is great and on the money.. It was very fun to build and very easy directions to follow. (as is with all Tamiya kits). There was little to no clean up and the fitting was perfect no issues. great kit for a beginner or just an old timer like me that wants to take a break from all the photoetched nightmares of todays high end models. there are several different versions to build in this kit and great markings (decals).
Quality Model with Fine Details
I decided to order this US Willys MB Jeep from Tamiya after looking at the amazing pictures sent in from others who have built this model. I was very impressed with how creative and original the finished models and dioramas were and decided to give it a try even though I have only recently returned to modeling and I'm not very experienced. I'm glad I did. Although the 1/35th scale Willys easily fits in the palm of your hand when finished, the detail and the quality of the kit make this a really fun model to build. Very enjoyable!
Great model easy build

This is a very well put together kit from Tamiya for a very iconic vehicle. The jeep is very highly detailed and can be built into several variants. It comes with a figure and a 30 caliber machine gun that add more realism to the model. The kit lives up to the Tamiya name with quality pieces that fit together well and hardly any flash on the sprues. The piece count is much lower that a standard tank which made this a fun change of pace build for me after working on some time consuming project. I highly recommend this kit.
Tamiyas newer US Army Jeep

A great easy to build kit. Every part was a great fit, with the exception of the rear end passenger area. There was a small gap on the drivers side, but this was easily filled by light sanding, and a little extra paint. Now you can't tell there was ever a gap. Very detailed, and included decals for the fire extinguishers and dashboard. Just a great build for beginners, like myself. I'm planning on building the Italeri version, and the older Tamiya, one day to compare the three.
Awesome Model
I really enjoyed putting this model together. Most fun I've had on a model in years. I will post pictures later. The only thing I will say about this kit is you will need a REALLY sharp knife to assist in removing the parts from the plastic sprues. Some of the parts are very thin and will break easily if you are not using a sharp enough knife. Other than that there are lots of options for putting this thing together in different designs. All in one nice little kit. :)
Great model, great detail

Tamiya did a wonderful job with this iconic vehicle. It has excellent detail throughout, yet is uncomplicated to assemble. There was minimal flash, the fit was superb, and there were many different options to choose from (fitting considering the versatility of the real thing). I would recommend this model to all skill levels as it’s simple enough for a basic construction for beginners, but has exceptional detail required of modelers well beyond my pay grade.
Great classic Tamiya

I loved building this little kit. Everyone says that Tamiya has achieved the perfect blend of detail, number of parts and fit and this kit really shows it. It goes together very quickly and looks great when it's finished. The instructions leave something to be desired a couple of times like where to place Thompson holster on the side but it isn't necessary. Overall a great kit and a quick, fun build. Highly recommended.
A great little kit!
I enjoyed this build so much! Typical Tamiya the parts just fall together absolutely no fit issues what so ever. Paint it weather it and you have a very professional looking kit . I found nothing to complain about .
Just make sure you install the driver side mirror dead last , I didn't and because the kit is actually quite tiny .I didn't have enough places for hand holds and I broke the mirror off several times
Terrific

Tidy little kit, a wonderfully engineered rendition of the ubiquitous little workhorse of WWII and beyond. A little bit of seam cleanup to deal with, but nothing unexpected. I have bought three of these and have two dios already coming together. The driver is good, but a little too distinctive to use over and over, so I think I will fill another with the Bronco US truck crew for a little more character.
MPs to the rescue
By: jgbritch
This was the absolute best model I've encountered so far. All the parts were clean free of sprue sprawl and fit together extremely well, very pleasing to put together. This jeep and its two MPs look exactly as I remember the night we caught to East German spies in our track park in Germany during the Cold War. I wish the wheels turned but they look real enough.
Fun Kit, Cool Vehicle
I got this kit as my warmup kit and after a full inspection last night the kit looks easy to build so I would assume based on the instructions this is a great kit for starting back up like myself. Also the details on this kit are really great for a 1997 kit I believe but dont quote me. Hood opens and windshield can go up or down you will enjoy this build
Great build for any experience level
Don't over look building this kit goes together fast and easy. would be excellent first build for those starting out in modeling or when your ready to increase your skill level by learning to do intermediate or advanced weathering and kit upgrades by adding on equipment. No armor collection should be without at least one of theses vehicles.
Fun Build

This Tamiya brand was an instruction easy build compared to the Takom jeep type. Minor sanding and all parts dry fit with no modifications, unlike Takom brand. I wish the Tamiya brand offered the trailer as Takom did. Both brands are accurate but Tamiya was more clear in instructions with location of parts. I would recommend both brands.
US Willys MB Jeep
This is another finely detailed scale model JEEP. This was fairly easy to build and the details and options for it are excellent. I decided to purchase another one and modeled it with the optional tow bar on the front instead of the standard bumper. Again this is a quality model produced by Tamiya, and a must have for any WWII diorama.

This a great kit. But, than again it's from Tamiya. What else would you expect from them. The kit just about fall together by itself. No flash, awesome fit of parts and nice decals. With after market accessories you do so much with this kit. Anyone from a beginner to a pro would be happy with this kit.
Fun build!

The Willy’s Jeep is a great model. I am twelve years old, and the directions were very clear on how it went together. I like the optional mounted machine gun and the optional open or closed hood. The moveable windshield is a really great feature of this model.
Perfect for any fan of WW2 models

This is by far my favorite ground vehicle model. It has the typical quality of Tamiya. The fit is perfect and it's fun to build. There are endless modifications you can make to it and it was a blast to weather it and make it feel real.
Classic Jeep

How could you not have a Willys in your collection. This kit was a challenge for me, not the skill level, but the size of the smaller parts. Or could it be my hands are too big? Enjoyed building this. Wish the kit included more figures.
A very fun build

For such a small vehicle the detail is impressive when it comes to the engine and undercarriage. I know you can't see them when the model is finished but the detail adds to the fun of building of the model.
Excellent

Product was exactly what I was looking for. Jeep is perfect size to work with for a diorama. All parts and directions were including, accessories will add to the detail. Tamiya is a great brand to work with.
Great kit!
I'm just getting back into building static models after a 40 + year break and this kit was a great place to start . Typical Tamiya fit and finish. I'll up load pics after paint and weathering.
adaptable

I'VE BUILT several OF THESE converted most to S.A.S. north Africa. they go together bretter than the other jeeps available. I wish Tamiya would reissue their s.a.s. jeep but this one will do just fine
A pretty neat little jeep
By: sirzach1
This kit is a decent little Willys, it has just enough detail to look good, but not over detailed. I enjoyed painting it, and making a small base for it. It's a great kit to learn painting on.
Great Detail

I am a huge jeep fan, and owner. This model kit has extremely well defined detail. I could not be happier with it. Very little sanding to make parts fit, and instructions more detailed than most

I found this kit to be very good and a fun mojo build. Would recommend to anyone.

Excellent Kit
This is an excellent kit. The instructions were easy to follow, the parts all went together without problem and there was little clean up of the parts.
Awesome for 1/35 scale dioramas.

This is a great kit. It's very easy to build, looks great right out of the box and is small enough to compliment a larger vehicle or tank in a diorama.
great kit
By: illiniteach29
This was a great kit. Directions were very clear. The fit on the pieces was excellent, no modifying the parts was necessary. Was very easy.
Best model yet, after a good buff to let the paint stick
I thought that just because it was so small I would not be able to get the detail painting done, but I did. Would recommend it to all.
Like alot
I bought this model and have enjoyed building it. I hope anyone who buys this model will get as much enjoyment building it as I have.
Great kit

Another great Tamiya kit. Using the Eduard PE set, you can make this into a really detailed little kit. Builds quickly as well.
Easy to work with
Great and easy to work with. I, too, moved the Browning to the passenger side some. I feel there are no faults with this jeep.
cool
I thought it was really great how the model showed me that the army did put machine guns on jeeps back during world war 2.
Very good
