Stirring Things Up
This Tamiya paint stirrer comes in a two-pack of identical, stainless-steel stirrers. The stirrer design has one rounded, cupped end, and one square-tipped paddle end which is broad enough to keep the tool from rolling, separated by a comfortably long round handle, with a total length of 15 cm (6 inches). Thus equipped, the modeler can get into most tight corners and scrape loose collected pigment from around the bottom of most paint containers. Clean-up should be easy, and even dried paint should loosen from the stirrer in solvent and come off without damaging the stainless steel. This stirrer also looks like it could be used as a putty applicator or sculpting tool if the need arose. The only caution I have is that the flat, paddle end is a bit sharp with pointed corners, so maybe children should learn to use it under adult supervision unless you can carefully file the corners and end into a smoother finish.
The Good Mixer
For me this is a very good product. I am able to mix all the pigments/solids in my paints. Shaking just does not get it. The broad, flat side mixes well in my glass containers. It pulls up sediment and mixes the liquid with it. On the minus side, the spoon does not do much for me. I used it in paint and thinner. Just not for me. But that flat side is great. My next order will have another of these sets with it. The metal is a nifty piece of stainless in its own ritht.
No bubbles included
This is the best stir stick ever. The paddle really allows you to incorporate the pigment without introducing air as you stir. I paddle back and forth, then stir in a circle and very quickly you have a consistent mixture. The beak/scoop on the other side is good for digging in the recesses of jars and also doubles as a measuring spoon for mixing colors or loading the airbrush cup. Very useful. Highly recommended.
Ellegant idea
I've used tooth picks or balsa wood pieces for years and years to mix my paint. But, being a tool junky, had to try this stirrer when I saw it. Glad I did. Getting all of the paint in the bottle mixed is easy with the flat end of the stirrer. If you need a concentrated glob of pigment the scoop end makes that easy as well. Highly recommended!
Tamiya paint stirrers.
these stirrers are great. Shaking the paints does not always get all the sediment mixed. The stirrers do. I have some paints that are a few years old and after a few minutes using the stirrers it is completely mixed. The spoon end is helpful to get everything from the bottom.
Great for jars with a rounded bottom!
This is a great stirring tool for jars with a rounded bottom. Both Tamiya and Model Masters jars are rounded in the bottom of the jar, and this tool has a rounded cupped end that is perfect for making sure you can get down there and get everything mixed.
Must need
this is a tool that is a must need. it makes mixing your paint very simple and easy. it wipes off very nicely too so paints do not contaminate eachother. It even has a small cup at one end for those who like to create their own custom colors.
Good for airbrush mixing
I use it for keeping the paint or medium mixed in my gravity feed airbrush. It is much better than using wooden stir sticks or scrap pieces laying around. It really lets you get into the airbrush bowl and keep things mixed up.
Convenient Tool
I thought this was a frivolous purchase but I love these stirrers. It's much more convenient to be able to wipe of the metal stirrer than to deal with a new stick for each color when I'm hand painting.
Very useful
These workvery well to get down in the bottom corners of paint bottles, or to stir your custom mixes, or to transfer very small amounts of paint for mixing.
Quality Stirrers
These maxe mixing paint a breeze, a scoop side allows for easy additions of color if your mix is a bit under in the color desire.
great little tool
these work really good to stir and assist in pouring paint. Also the curved end works to smooth out putty.
Handy Item
Very handy to have on hand for mixing. Easy clean-up after use.Don't take up much room.
Good Stirrers
Good stirrers but bend easily. If you're looking to 'buy' stirrers get these.
