It's cheap,, but it isn't.
For the $1.50 you're paying for this jar you may question its quality. But I was pleasantly impressed. These jars are made out of good solid materials. I am able to tighten the lid down as tight as I can get it with my hands and have it not jump threads.
I've had other brands of jar leak at the lid when shaking but not the Tamiya jars. They seal tight and snug. The plastic lid, although clear, doesn't discolor very easily and due to the good seal is easy to clean as the threads aren't all covered in thinned paint as long as you're careful.
As the previous review mentioned the measuring marks are an added touch to help measure out thinner for airbrush applications or thinning putty.
Long story short is that i'll probably be adding a few more of these to my next order. I'd happen on them purely by accident and picked one up to test. It was money very well spent. Now I can toss all my old jars with poorly fitting lids in the trash and replace them with these Tamiya jars.
BEST Paint Mixing Jars

These Tamiya paint jars are awesome. Good quality, glass and lids that seal tightly. I've been using these and the larger size for several years. I keep a supply on hand for special colors or keeping a large lot of the colors I use continuously. I do a lot of naval aircraft so Light Ghost Grey, Dark Ghost Grey, etc. are used in large amounts! These jars are perfect for storing larger lots of color. Give them a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed!
Great for storing paint.

I bought these to transfer my Vallejo model color paint to. I don't like the droper bottles. It is so much easier to stir the paint. Vallejo model color is very thick, so I add about 20 % water to thin it. These jars give me enough room to pre thin the paint. I find that the lids don't stick as easily as metal lids.
It's a Tamiya!
These are another quality Tamiya item. They are high quality glass, very clearly marked and most importantly they seal very tightly. I find them useful for mixing and storing paints, and pigments. I use them to hold thinners and cleaners etc. that come in large bottles...very useful little fellows, highly recommend.
Great for mixing paint

This is a simple a paint mixing jar. It's made by Tamiya and costs 1.49.
While some may say that plastic cups work fine, I like the convenience of glass jars. It's non-chemical reactive and already have mixing proportions built in.
Very convenient for a fair price.
Excellent for Mixing and Storage
Excellent mixing and storing thinned paint. Handy markings make measuring and mixing a breeze. Caps screw on snug and seal very well. Clear color makes paint identification easy.
Must have for custom mixes
Tamiya doesn't make all the colors I want so I custom mix them. These bottles are just right for doing that. Graduation markings on the side make it easier to measure each color
Must have

Great for anything paint wise. Love that it has markings on the back so you know how much you are mixing. I'll be ordering the bigger ones next
Great!!

needed a gray blue airbrush color for an enterprise c model. This was very useful as the model required alot of the paint.
Good Item to get
This is great. It even has measuring lines on the side so you get the ratio of paint right when you mix it.
