Reviews : Tamiya Acrylic XF-9 Flat Hull Red 3/4 oz

Tamiya makes the hobby paint on the planet. Its so easy to work with. The coverage is awesome. At first, coming from Testors, I was hesitant because Testors is so thin and barely covers. Once I used it, it was a game changer. I will be switching all my paints to Tamiya.

Definitely more on the brown side. I'm building the Titanic so it was a little dark for what I was trying to achieve.I can see it being better for military ship models. Air brushes nicely thinned with IPA.

Paint to Thinner range 2:1 to 1:1 for airbrushing depending on air pressure, paint volume and distance from subject. Experiment on scrap plastic first.

This shade of paint looks so much more realistic than bright red paint on the lower hull of a Navy ship. I like it very well.

A deep dark red that is more brown that red. I like this color it would go well with other shades of earth.

I used the paint on my 1/350 Tirpitz. It looked great. Tamiya paints are the best.
