Reviews : Tamiya Acrylic XF60 Dark Yellow 3/4 oz

It's an alright paint, good coverage, however if you're looking for a dark yellow, this is a little bit green. Before buying I hadn't realized there were two dark yellow colors, after purchasing I did the research and hoped that I picked the right one. On its own it looks fine, however. If you don't mind the greenish tone, then it's a good paint.

This shade is primarily used on Mid - Late German Panzer Vehicles. Its equivalent to the Panzer Dunkelgelb that was used after Feb 1943. However some later vehicles may require mixing with a touch of Tamiya Buff and Flat White to 'bland' the color out a bit or if using the color modulation technique. Other than that its an excellent paint.

I love tamiya paints for air brushing, not much for brush work but air brushing they are superb! Please use tamiya thinner with product. This is the large jar of dark yellow a MUST if you are into building German armor. This is one of main colors for german armor. Also don’t get it mixed up with dark yellow 2 a more modern German yellow!

Great paint. I have made the switch from Vallejo to Tamiya due to the coverage and availability. I don't use an airbrush, but with some thinner the paint can be hand brushed just fine. I know with a lot of things it's personal presence but I highly recommend this paint as it gives great coverage.

Tamiya makes the hobby paint on the planet. Its so easy to work with. The coverage is awesome. At first, coming from Testors, I was hesitant because Testors is so thin and barely covers. Once I used it, it was a game changer. I will be switching all my paints to Tamiya.

I got back into modeling recently and began building my toolkit. The Tamiya paints were part of that first paint kit, primarily for WW2 German and US infantry, tanks, vehicles and planes. This paint brushes on well and I mix it 1:1 with thinner when airbrushing.

A perfect match for my desert German vehicles. The Tamiya paint line is easy to mix and very easy to airbrush. Just a great product. I have been using the paint line for some time now and really like the ease of brushing and airbrushing

Love Tamiya Acrylics! Dries to the touch in minutes. I thin the paint with rubbing alcohol 50/50 when airbrushing, no need for expensive thinners! Easy clean-up using the rubbing alcohol and no noxious fumes.

I didn't use it by itself, but used it with Tamiya's flat white to make a beige white look for a project. Worked very well with hand brushing and gives the right tint to white if used in a similar way.

Tamiya acrylic model paints go on incredibly smooth from any air brush with little or no thinning. Also I need to rarely use a primer on the plastic. Tamiya Acrylics cover in one coat.

I use this paint mostly for painting mid to late war German vehicles, but I have used it for painting personnel gear like helmets and such. A great product.

Paint to Thinner range 2:1 to 1:1 for airbrushing depending on air pressure, paint volume and distance from subject. Experiment on scrap plastic first.

This is a great paint. Great price too. Very sharp color. May require additional thinner to apply properly to plastic model

Use this color to make the best German ww2 tank base coat, it's this or German gray. Airbrush on and dries super fast

The color is accurate and it does the job when you don't need to spray an entire area or part.

I used this for my Tiger I tank. Looks great and goes on nice and even with my airbrush.
