Reviews : Tamiya Spray Lacquer TS13 Clear 3 oz

Bought this to use on a build for the wife. after decals sat drying for 48hrs, it seemingly ate through them. tested it on spare paint sprue tree parts, painted with both Tamiya paints and primers and well as testors enamels. it started fine, but after a few hours, it started to bubble the paints. These are parts that have been painted well over a month ago. Seems like this is a very hot clear coat.Have well over a half a can and i'm very hesitant to use it.Maybe a bad batch from the factory, but i don't need it ruining hours and days of work.

This is like all the colors I've used from Tamiya. It sprays great and drys fast. The only thing, it didn't have that wet gloss look after spraying it. I've actually had Tamiya colors look wet long after they dry without any clear, but the clear didn't do that. It may be my thecnique as I'm fairly new to this, so I'll continue to use it and work with it.

THIS IS THE BEST SPRAY CAN CLEAR COAT I HAVE EVER USED, IT WORKS GREAT IF YOU USE LACUER PAINTS AS A BASE COAT, TS-13 IS TO HOT FOR ENAMEL OR ACRYLIC PAINTS. BEST RESULTS ARE WITH TAMIYA LACQUER BASE PAINT COLORS THE BASE COLORS DRY SLICK AS GLASS AND THE TS-13 IS SUPER SHINNY AND DOESN'T YELLOW OVER TIME LIKE TESTORS GLOSS ENAMEL CLEAR COATS.

When using old decal sheets I use this clear. It keeps the decals together so they don't fall apart in the water. It also does not yellow like some of the other clears. You will have to cut out the decals after clearing. But at least the decals will be useable.

I've used many different rattle can paints when building models Tamiya is hands down the best I've ever used. It lays smooth every single time as long as you follow the instructions. I'll continue to use Tamiya paints as long as I can

Tamiya sprays are pricey but they are the best. After paint, I usually give it 2 light coats of clear; then a third heavier coat. I sand from 3,200 to 12,000, finish w Novus 1 and 2.

I used this paint on a large scale radio control truck for the interior color. Tamiya paints go on very smooth and have a realistic appearance. This can of paint was no exception.

Great product to add a nice shine to models. After sitting for 3 days the finish can be sanded and polished to produce a nice shine.

I have used many types of paint on models and this Tamils brand is by far the best. Goes on smooth and easy to apply. A++

Tamiya paints are second to none. They are easy to use, fast dry and apply so smooth. It the only paints i use anymore.

clear works great over Tamiya lacquer paints easy to use no drips and minimal buffing required for a great shine

Not the highest gloss paint. It's no match for 2K. However, it is Tamiya quality and looks great anyway.

These rattle can varnishes work great and are easy to use when your feeling to lazy to fire up the airbrush.

Tamiya TS-13 Clear is a great product. It sprays very well out of the can and has a very nice gloss.

Very easy to use for the beginner, or the seasoned pro. predictable results everytime.

Works great. Start with a light coat before a heavy one or you may have issues.
