Be Careful
By: dohfra
Normally, I would not be making a review regarding Tamiya paint, but wanted to mention a couple of quirks I found. The paint goes on without problem, has a nice gloss sheen and what you would expect from a Tamiya product. I do like this color. Probably best over white primer. It is a little darker than the vermillion decals that Salvino supplies, if that is a concern. Now, the quirks, when I sprayed Tamiya's light blue over this, the red started to bleed through this top coat. If I ever do this again, will use SUPER light coats and hopefully this will solve that. The shocker came when I sprayed Mr. Color Super Clear over everything and the decals. Posted a picture in the gallery, where you will see that the clear coat caused the red to seep though the decals! You may have experienced different, but would recommend at this point not to put anything other than clear coat over this red. Additionally, Tamiya's clear coat did not affect Salvino's decals in this way.
Not a Fluorescent as one would think
This is a great paint. Fast drying, smooth spraying but its not a bright as you would think the fluorescent name would mean. To get the Day-glo look you have to have a white base first. You can also apply a Fluorescent orange base to get a nice day-glo look too. Overall i like it.
Spray Lacquer TS36 Fluorescent Red 3 oz
I used this paint to make stripes on a large model and they came out perfect. This paint went on smooth and spread out evenly since it is close to scale it left almost no demarcation line that could be felt between it and other colors
Great for STP Day-Glo Red
Thus paint looks great on Richard Petty race car models. Spray this color first over a white base. After it dries and hardens gently mask and spray TS-26 light blue for a fantastic looking race car model.
