Can't Beat the Price
This was the first decal solution I ever used. At the time I was still using nothing but Testors and Model Master enamel paints, so this was a no-brainer for me. PROS: - It's easy to use. Just brush a little onto the surface being sure to cover an area equal to that which the decal will cover - It dries quickly, leaving the model safe to handle so you can move on to the next decal without fear of have it bunch up or rip off. - Once the decal is in place and the excess solution soaked up using cotton swab or absorbent paper towel, it won't be going anywhere so long as you don't touch it until it's dry - It's non-abrasive/non-corrosive. You can safely apply a few added layers without worrying about most decals breaking apart or dissolving on you. You also don't need to worry about accidentally stripping off paint or even varnish. (this does not mean use it in excessive amounts, you just have more wiggle room than with other solutions like from Mr. Hobby or Tamiya) CONS: - There is an odor that smells vaguely of vinegar. It's not strong, but you will notice it. - While it does hold the decal in its place, it does not automatically conform and melt into every crevice like smaller panel lines or rivet holes. You gently roll or press a damp cotton swap across or into the decal to bring out those details. - There isn't a whole lot in each bottle. Only 7.4ml or .25oz. For the price, you can't really argue. As long as you're not wasting it, or leaving the bottle open, it'll still last you. I complete a 4 1/72 scale planes before I noticed I was running out (A Mk.I and Mk.XIVc Spitfire, a Typhoon Mk.I, and P-51D) and then finished a 1/72 A10. - There is no built in applicator brush, so having a clean brush just for this is a great idea to avoid any contaminates. Overall, it's a fantastic product I still use, even though I've got Mark Fit Strong, Mr. Setter and Mr. Softer, and the Vallejo Decal Fix and Decal Set.
Fantastic Base
I use this as a base for laying my decals, to help position them, etc. It works really well. I bought Tamiya Mark Fit to lay on the top, but haven't had a chance to use them together. I've used it solo with a paintbrush and it works great.
Unsure.
I tried on some deals but it seemed to not do what it suppose to do. There are various videos out there that are contrary. I have yet to find out what works for me. Still searching.
Good stuff
Works good for keeping air bubbles out. Nice for putting decals on some surfaces that aren't totally flat also. I applied it before & after setting & seems to do it's job
