Great M270 model
This is a great M270 model from Trumpeter. I added a lot of cabling using solder in the cab and on some of the control boxes behind the cab, but that was just me making things hard on myself. On its own, it has a great many details. They do give you decals for the weapons control display and dashboard which I used and they look great. There are raised details on those two parts, however, so if you want to use the decals, you have to sand off those details. As far as fit issues, I had trouble fitting the cab on but I think that had more to do with the cabling I added. The other problem I had was putting the cover on the frame for the loader/launcher module (LLM). Not sure if I did something wrong, but it bowed out quite a bit. I had to do a lot of shaving to get it to settle down. The wheels were well made and, if painted separately, made assembly and subsequent weathering very easy. Be careful as it is very easy to mess up the direction of the frames on the sides of the rocket pods. One thing really annoyed me - there are only had one set of decals for the rocket pods (except markings for the end). That is why on the completed photos I uploaded for this model, you see one of the pods in the LLM.
To sum up, this kit has great detail and not many issues - and I'm not convinced I didn't cause them. Buy with confidence, experienced modeler.
