Reviews : Trumpeter M1132 Stryker Engineer Squad Vehicle (ESV)

This was an absolute joy to build. I have to say I liked this Trumpeter kit better than the Tamiya MGS kit I assembled a few months ago. The pieces of this kit are well formed and everything fit exactly the way it should. Very minimal flashing. For a kit containing over 900 parts that is very impressive. It was a little scary looking at first, seeing all those parts and sprues but the instructions and diagrams are very easy to follow for anyone with some experience in this type of kit. I would say this is not for a beginner simply due to the number of parts and the extremely small size of some of the parts. The only drawback with this kit is the same as I have had with my other stryker kits: there is absolutely zero interior detail so having functional hatches and rear ramp is a waste. There's nothing to highlight on the inside so everything has to be closed. However, I do plan on getting every other variant of the Stryker vehicle lineup from Trumpeter.

This Stryker ESV with Surface mine plow was both interesting and challenging to build. To keep you busy for a while, Trumpeter has included over 900 parts for this 1/35th scale vehicle. There are 20 sprues of plastic pieces. Many of the pieces are quite small, so tweezers and patience are necessary. This kit had some flashing with many of the pieces, so a lot of time was required to clean up parts before assembling. This was the first kit from Trumpeter that I have built. The fit and detail were excellent and for the most part, the instructions were good. But I agree with the comments from one of the other reviewers that the instructions were vague at times. But overall, it was a challenging and very good kit that I would recommend.

excellent model for the money great fitting only a few parts that need a bit of filing ,ejector marks are not much of a problem lots of parts which I like great molding the directions are a little vague but not hard to work out I would recommend this kit to any serious builder will be looking for more trumpeter models if this is the norm for trumpeter kits absolutely love this kit jump on it if you get the chance if there are any recommendations let me know at edgemoorkid@aol.com

This is a well detailed kit. There is little to no flash on the pieces. The kit comes with some photo etch parts as well as some paper parts for MRE and soda cases. This kit would be good for any modeler. The photo etch parts are simple to use for someone who as never used PE parts before.

Great looking kit. No flash from my first look. I posted a picture of the color chart. I wish they would put those in the description so you knew what paints to have but I'm really excited to start this build. Instructions look really detailed.

This kit is detailed very well. There are several upgrade kits available also. I have found that the AFV model Stryker are pretty similar so most of the interior upgrade kits will work with this model.

Fit was great and the kit is easy to build, but the plow was tedious, so many bits and pieces.

Great kit of the M1132 Trumpeter Stryker. Great price. This kit has really good details.
