Reviews : Trumpeter USS Independence LCS-2 Littoral Combat Ship

The overall kit is nice but the ship itself is kind of, meh. While there is plenty of ridiculously small Trumpeter parts that help to really add fantastic detail and depth to the ship, the subject matter itself in my opinion is really just a floating brick. With this one I would say if your interested in the ship, this is a great kit and you should get it. If the ship design doesn’t do anything for you, I’d pass on this one.

This is an excellent kit! It is well molded, the fit and finish are exceptional. The decals are printed in register, very thin and there are a lot of them. A color guide is even provided to help with the painting and decal placement. The only down side that I see is that the decal sheet has markings printed inside the helipad markings. These will have to be cut our carefully so as not to ruin the helipad decals.

So Far I am having a difficult choice between Trumpter and Tamiya kits, both have excellent details. Both kits take generally a few weeks to build. This is my second Trumpter model ship and I am very satisfied with detail and the parts fit. Hardley any warped parts so far and instructions are very detailed.

very complete build. just paint first. If done right, your water lines will be spot on.
