Reviews : Woodland Ice Skaters

These Woodland Scenics Figurines (1899) have a rustic look and feel that fits right in within the Winter Scape on my Whimsical Shelf Railroad. Their poses worked best for me by configuring them in roughly the same situations as the packaging depicts. That's fine by me however as Woodland has a realistic imagination when it comes to the context within which their figurines will be used. Combined with a set from Preiser (10315) I have a lake shore full of happy skaters!

The ice skaters look really good on my paper pond. I added them to a Christmas train layout and had to have all of them. There is a little drama that can be seen by setting up an accident waiting to happen by placing the one ice skater that is already on his back on the ice and adding the others to look like they will fall over him there by causing a real calamity.
