Woodland Scenics Built & Ready 5037
By: samuraihoghead
Woodland Scenics Built and Ready models are top notch. The kits probably are too but I have no experience with the kits. It's too bad they don't manufacture larger structures. Although they are plastic they do not look like plastic, unlike some Walthers Cornerstone series model buildings do, both kit and built-up. At the least giving them a shot of dull coat helps. This building is a part of an industrial park I've modeled. The picture suggests a rail car, like a gondola or flat can fit in the open outcrop part of the building where the small crane is, but they won't. For this reason I incorporated Walthers Union Crane and Shovel 4021 model for the actual construction of the transformers themselves, including a Walthers heavy duty overhead crane kit 3150. So someone can get this far for about $175, which is where I started and money well spent. To finish off the property I saved up a few more dollars and added a couple of Walthers 3125 chain link fence kits and kit bashed a couple of Walthers concrete street systems for the aprons for truck access to both structures and finished off the rest of the aprons with plaster, which was the trickiest part of the process. Of course like everyone else I have a limited number of model dollars to invest so I had to save up for a bit for all the components before construction. It was worth the wait, so I recommend any Woodland Scenics model in general and here the Meg A Watts model in particular.

The details and the painting of this building is top notch.I read a review that this was a stand alone building and train cars would not fit in loading dock.A flat car or gondola car fits in there perfectly. It made a great addition to my layout.

Excellent Industrial building. The windows are movable and can be tilted to various angles.
