this is one of my favorite molds! It's not too deep, but gives you a rock wall that's a pretty good size so if you have a lot of area to cover, it's nice to have a bigger mold to use. And you can prop these up so that you only cast a portion of the mold or you can cast the whole thing. I usually spray a water mix (with just 2 drops of dish soap) to make for an easier release on this one. It comes out easy as it is (because the mold is so flexible you can literally just peel it backwards and then push it back out when you're done), but it's not a really deep mold so I worry sometimes that I will break the castings so the water mixture makes it release pretty easily and doesn't affect the casting you're making. I'm working on uploading a picture of one of my short sides to show how this looks after casting (it's not painted yet but at least you can see the finish cast of it).

Great molds for making rock walls. Use Hydrocal plaster mix and pour into the mold. I first lightly spray the inside of the mold with a H2O, dish soap mix to help with absorption and releasing the rock from the mold. Wait till the mold sets about 30 min. Then gently and carefully starting at the outer edges free the finished rock from the mold then set the rocks on a piece of wax paper on a flat surface for a day or two.

I own a few different rock molds and each one is very easy to use. Follow the instructions on the plaster, wet the mold, pour plaster into mold and wait for it to harden. Once it hardens it's easy to pop out (since you previously wet the mold) and then onto the next one.

Used Plaster of Paris in mold. Allowed to dry overnight. Mold relatively easy to remove from mold. It is important to clean residue from mold between uses. Used multiple pieces joined with spackle as retaining wall in a combination HO train layout/Aurora car track.

Useful product. Have had difficulty with air bubbles, but that's probably on me:-) I typically break up the casting and carve it down to fit the layout.

this mold is pretty cool the way it makes the rocks look and with some good painting and weathering it will be a great scenery detail.
