Hyper realistic but apply with care
Woodland Scenics Apples and Oranges make for bountiful custom fruit trees. First make your trees using the short Woodland Scenics deciduous armatures formed to the low wide shape of pruned orchard trees. I find the best result comes from the tedious process of applying the fruit ONE PIECE at a time. For this is use 100% white glue ( the color of the fruit IS water soluble ) squirted onto a dish with the fruit dumped into a shallow bowl. I pluck the fruit from the bowl with teasers, just TOUCH the white glue and then apply to the foliage of my tree. One mistake I made at first was putting fruit all over the tree: fruit hangs down below the branches so if you can see it when looking down from above the tree it's probably in the wrong place - do NOT put fruit on top of the foliage: just on the bottom and a bit on the sides.
