It's probably my fault, but...
This was not an easy build for me. I got it done, including painting but a long time ago (2004-ish?) and I did not have the skills I have today (definitely not even close to a master modeler) so I wouldn't recommend this model kit to a novice. Today it looks good in use in a joint SP/TNO/SF engine service facility set in New Mexico in the late twenties and early thirties, in conjunction with a Walthers water tower built-up on a getaway track (WRR2813), a Walthers steel main facility water tank kit (WRR3043) a Model Power coaling tower (MDP410) and an old Bachmann sanding towers kit. The facility is still under construction and I'm about ready to model the fuel oil supply tracks, as not all locos are coal burners. When taken together they make for an interesting loco running maintenance/service facility without going broke to do it. If you are modeling coal burning engines you really do need this model at the roundhouse. Skill level aside, I can recommend this kit

Thia is a kit that you really need to take your time with, follow the steps without skipping ahead. that said i like this kit.
