This is a nice kit to build and displays well, but the mold is getting a bit old. The fit of the pieces is still good, however the parts do have a bit of flash that needs to be trimmed. I was surprised that the suspension is very strong. I expected it to be weak with the big tires. Everything stays in alignment very well. The reason I gave it an average review is that while it is still a good model, the molds are still decades old and not as sharp as the new ones from today.
Its been awhile from the first time I built this truck my grandson plays with it so its been redone at least four times but the truck goes together good I did have a problem with the bed and tailgate area its a little tricky I will tell ya this the 1984 GMC is a tuff model kit it still looks ok after being worked over by a 3 year old I definitely have to buy another one for my collection sorry I don't remember much about the build thanks Hobbylinc
There was a time when I would avoid mpc and amt kits, but now I embrace them. Having experienced what they’re all about, their strengths and quirks, I just plan on a little more time and patience and I end with something nice. Have fun!
