Whatever scale you're building...you should have a variety of these hexagonal rods (I personally have ALL the sizes, just in case-). This 0.020 size is very tiny...but it's STILL a hex shape, so you can use it in many places on engines, or smaller scale projects needing small nut and bolt detail...just use your imagination-anything you can think of for detailing with a hex shape-go Nuts...(pardon the Pun). If you used metal nut, and the part got lost it's GONE: with this-just make ANOTHER part. You'll have to handle tiny parts with the right tools and equipment; check HobbyLinc to find the tools and books you need to have success, and BUILD BETTER MODELS. Think about all the nut and bolt detail you want to have on a car chassis, military machine, sci-fi, or ANYTHING that has exposed bolt/nut detail: you cut off whatever length you need (use an x-acto knife or razor saw (use with a mitre box; all sold from HobbyLinc), sand flat to size and you have a LOW COST nut, bolt head that glues to your model and when painted...looks like the real thing Add a circular plastic disc (punch from thin plastic sheet, or cut from round stock) under the hex to look like a washer, too: cheaper than photo-etch, and looks natural when you paint them...get all six sizes; and try them on your next project. They will make your models look more realistic.

Use these in scratch building. Excellent for adding detail to buildings and bridges.
